I wouldn't ban religion - the governance needs to be secular.

However, not only would church property be taxed, religions/churches would not get an automatic "charitable organization" status.  
They would have to justify it by actually being charities, just like any other charitable organization.
Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.
