I'm guessing the authors of the Bible, those who wrote with pure intentions of depicting God, deemed a written documentation of God's works and ways would be beneficial for those not yet in the know. I don't claim to know what exactly each and every writer was thinking with his contribution to the Bible, but from reading the book itself, I can make guesses about it.

The Koran may be God's Word in Arabic, however, I haven't read any of it and thus I do not know. So far, I have found that the Christian Bible has been more comprehensive than any other holy text in matching up with my observations of God. Hense why I choose Christianity.
