To quantify my vote, Beyond being a Christian, the more I examine the concept of death the less sense it makes. I once blew someone's mind by arguing that humans are a race of vampire zombies,but not in the classic Hollywood depiction.
I do not know what heaven is like, or what will happen after passing. As I have no control over that I don't worry about it. My life is a passage between point A the bed I was born in to point B the bed I (with luck) will die in. Between those points is the part I have control over and will therefore live it to the best of my ability. Albert Einstein said, only a life lived for others is a life worth while, that's true and it also makes your life more enjoyable.

To Welshcake, without going in to detail I can sympathise . The following have helped me at times, I hope you don't consider them to trite.

Boy, what book have you been reading to say Paul did not see Jesus as the resurrection and new life. Why not read in Paul's letters to the ians where he speaks multiple times on the resurrection of the dead in Christ, try 1st Thessalonians.
