"Dominate" is not, at its root, a religious word: It is much older than xtianity and means to be the master of, but not in a religious manner until later, and truly, domination is not generally associated with religion so much as a state of having power or control over something. Sports teams dominate, ideas dominate, armies dominate, mostly without doing so with religion.
