The younger generations are simply aware that they're smarter than their backward parents and Evangelical Christians are full of shit.

People are better educated today than in the past and today the internet is a great thing for supplying knowledge to those who seek it.
Its obvious that the more knowledgeable people get the more they will move away from religion.

Kids today can learn all about the history of Christianity on the internet, many parts of which are omitted from Christian biased school syllabuses.

Well DUH!!!! Why join a religion and then complain about how it is so divisive? If you grow tired of "us vs. them" then why join a church? DUH! Of course a church is going to be overly judgemental. If you dont like it, then leave. Otherwise get with the program and willingly change your life in line with the church...or get the fuck out.

I think globalization and internet are not the real causes, because those things works both ways. It may enable the less uneducated to teach themselves the gaps in their theology, but it also enable greedy churches to more cheaply reach out to the more uneducated around the world. I think the proximal cause is many evengelical churches, lusting after easy conquest amongst the most retarded and uneducated in the US and around the world, overplayed the chrismatic and wealth gasple parts, and became repulsive to the less uneducated portions of its former constituecy.

I think the internet had a lot to do with the rise of Atheism. Many atheists I have met have said they came to skepticism on their own, but that the net really did help them reach atheism. It helped me become an atheist
