Ask the Christian

RE: Ask the Christian
Evidence?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Ok, good response, fair enough, how about this, just peruse our site and find things you want to talk about, then talk about them from your point of view. Or, you could start a thread about some specific issue or argument you know of that you would like to discuss.

To me it is exceedingly pompous to start a thread telling people to ask you questions, like you are some sage on a mountaintop. Seriously, step away from this thread and acknowledge that you have rethought your approach to our site and would like to proceed as an equal instead of some condecending know-it-all. It could save you hours of fielding vitriol from our members.

Welcome to the forums.

Okay, thank you for your advice. I wasn't approaching it as a 'sage', however - I've just found it hard to keep up with everyone's posting. Whatever, I guess I'll have to take another approach. Sorry if I appeared stuck-up or anything Smile

Can't give you any evidence. Sorry, but you just have to believe Smile

The only arrogance I see is your own. I was truly trying to be helpful and apologized for stepping out of line. What else can I do?

RE: Ask the Christian
CrticialThinker there have been a good number of these types of threads created. A lot of people here on this forum are either former members of Christianity/other faiths or have studied/looked at them and know quite a bit. Although a lot of what we say may come off as misconceptions to you I assure you we are pretty confident of what we are saying.

I think, as someone suggested earlier, you should go and post in currently active threads and share your views instead of creating a thread like this. When people see this they just groan because its been seen/done before over and over again. Please also don't assume that many of these members here are just plagued by tons of misconceptions. We may be agnostics/atheists/deists but that does not mean that we have not done our research or been very involved in Christianity before.

Although it may very well be possible, I don't really think you are going to say anything in this thread that has not been heard before. Not trying to be rude just trying to be straight with you.

Let me spell this out for you, son.

We've had plenty of xtians show up here and think they have all the answers to everything because of their silly-assed bible.

The majority leave like whipped dogs because you know little but believe much.

When you figure out the fucking difference get back to me.

That just can't be Voltair, we simply must not have ever heard the good news...or we'd all be banging our heads against a pew.

I have a question for critical thinker.

How did you decide on your profile name?

Oh, and another question: If your answer to Rhythm is that "you just have to believe," how are you helping people here by "clearing up any misconceptions" about xtianity?
Trying to update my sig ...
