Whether or not your various sectarian disagreements are "spiritually life threatening" or not hasn't stopped them from being physically life threatening. In fairness, that's besides the point. What isn't is how empty this little bit of handwaving is from you. Not a day goes by that we don't see the "true christian" garbage trotted out like it meant something. Maybe you'll be able to control yourself better than your compatriot believers Radorth. Only time will tell.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
Quote:People have been working on exegesis of the bible for many centuries. Yeah, the term is a euphemism for "the bible means exactly what it says, except when it doesn't. In such cases it needs an expert such as me or other members of MY sect to determine what it REALLY means" Is just me,or does no one else find that a little odd? By 'odd' I mean that YHWH ,God of the universe was too stupid or inarticulate to get his message across in way which was clear to all people. Instead he needed large groups arrogant, sanctimonious, parasites (clergy, theologians) to mediate and interpret his word and will. Ignoramuses such as Drip,GC et al, with their transparently false claims of erudition and critical thinking, start to get quite tiresome and REALLY boring after a while. ![]() (April 20, 2012 at 1:57 am)padraic Wrote: Is just me,or does no one else find that a little odd? In this sense at least, if in no other way, his followers can be said to be emulating their lord and master to a T.

"looking for something" basically translates as susceptible to irrationality/religion I suspect.
The implication is that Drich has the right answers based on a private internal conviction. I never tire of the "ask and you will receive" argument, it sums up the cultish nature of the whole damn religion. Read the bible and God will give you the answer. If he doesn't, you didn't really believe/understand it well enough.
Self-authenticating private evidence is useless, because it is indistinguishable from the illusion of it. ― Kel, Kelosophy Blog
If you’re going to watch tele, you should watch Scooby Doo. That show was so cool because every time there’s a church with a ghoul, or a ghost in a school. They looked beneath the mask and what was inside? The f**king janitor or the dude who runs the waterslide. Throughout history every mystery. Ever solved has turned out to be. Not Magic. ― Tim Minchin, Storm (April 19, 2012 at 10:03 pm)Drich Wrote:(April 19, 2012 at 6:41 pm)RaphielDrake Wrote:(April 19, 2012 at 2:21 am)Drich Wrote: I did not wake up one morning and decided to come here and start arguements as some have suggested. I have been working on the exegessis of the bible for the last 10 or more years. I am here because I am in a position to give what some of you are looking for. I see and considering that the Hebrew Bible, The Torah, was directly translated from the original Greek Bible how do you have the front to be Christian and claim you have the original message at your disposal? Surely it would be the Jews seen as they follow a more undiluted text. Also, how does this add to the plausibility of the original text itself? Is there any evidence to back up any of what it says?
