I've been in alot of brawls, some I gave some knuckle sandwichs, some I received, but not much lately. Now I just watch them by the bar counter while enjoying my beverage
I am a badass. I have literally been paid to fight people. Of course, it was for entertainment purposes, but it still counts, right?
As an adult, all but 2 of my physically violent fights have been with men. The women... one was beating the shit out of another chick, and I tried to break it up. She was already tired by the time I got in it, she threw a couple of solid punches at me, but I knocked her two front teeth out. I wished I didn't have to, but she was crazed, and none of the other women present at the time would help me control it. The other was a drunken bar fight with a 50 year old woman who had the hots for my man. I got my ass kicked. lol oh well... I am not a fan of violence, and think it must be a last resort, always. I don't know who said this, but I've remembered it since childhood: Quote:He who throws the first blow admits he's run out of ideas. 42
I got into my share of fist fights when I was younger, for various reasons. Not so much anymore. These days I might smack my wife around some when she gets uppity and punch the ocassional homeless man for the fun of it, but that's it.

I've thrown my vote in, and I've done worse. I'm hoping that I never have occasion to do so again, clearly, I can't be trusted to display any sort of decency towards my fellow man in this regard whatsoever.

I've seen and experienced far too much violence in my lifetime. There's no room in my life for it.
I've been in two 'fights,' which really just consited of me throwing one punch. I bloodied a nose in one, and I knocked two teeth out in the other. Both were before I was ten years old, and I've never felt the need to fight since.

At 8 I beaned a bully with a half brick.
At 11 another bully sat on my chest and tried to put grass into my mouth. I bit his finger to the bone. At 12 a kid at school took a swing at me and missed. I punched him and broke a rib. In 1964,age 17,I did my chewy with a bloke at work who had been riding me for year. Hit him with one of those big swivel office office chairs. He deflected it and was not hurt.I was fired. Not being entirely gormless,it occurred to me that the time had come to stop using violence as a means to an end. I have not done so since. Karate and Judo both taught me self control and gave me the confidence to realise I had nothing to prove. |
