What I want to know is how a person who needs some outside agency (like a god) to tell her what's right and what's wrong can consider herself "good". So I was eating lunch with people yesterday, and one of them wanted to see my future by reading my palm. I thought it was cool so I let him, and he asked me if I was religious or believed in any god and I said no. Later that day, my friend that was also there started to ask me about it. She said something like, "I noticed he was reading your palm and you said you didn't believe in god. Why?" I said, "Because I don't.." Then she started going all "he gave you life, you breathe because of him, etc.." Then I told her I didn't believe in that and then she said, "Why did you deny him? You know, the bible says that that if you deny the lord in front of your friends, you will be denied to his face." Then I said, "Well, I don't believe that either.." She told me that she was shocked because I was such a nice person but didn't believe in god. I pointed out to her that you can be a good person and still not believe in god or be religious and it was just annoying.. I can't stand when people do that!

With all the home schooling going on to curtail kid's exposure to non-Christians this sort of thing will probably happen more often now. I'm sure she'll have an experience or two in school where she is made to feel marginalized for the narrowness of her point of view. Well, for her sake I hope so. Then we'll find out if her parents attempt to clone themselves in her were successful.
