No need to avoid sinning, all is forgiven?

RE: No need to avoid sinning, all is forgiven?
At least when you love a human being, you actually have direct incontrovertible confirmation of their existence.

I hope if I ever find someone, she doesn't have a god complex and asks "why didn't you love me before you met me?" and then tries to throw me in a pit of molten lava.
My ignore list

I must have missed that bit, along with everything else god said.

One who does not have the capability to reason misses much.

One who loves desires the love of others. Don't tell me this is a truth that has gone over your head.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Sure he will. Love to Yaweh is like the Sun to Superman(and Yaweh's kryptonite is iron chariots), so if his followers don't grovel to him, he withers away, leaving to door open for Lex Lugor(Satan) to take over the world.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

No one loves God until they meet Him in a personal relationship.

Now that's a great name for a breakfast cereal!

Another great one would be Christ Crispies! I'd love to see that in the cereal aisle!

That means we take 'good works' off of the table in biblical Christianity as a means to 'earn or deserve' Heaven. So why do we do good works and avoid sin? The answer is a simple one. Because we love God, and God hates sin. If we loved God to the degree required in scripture, then why would we seek to be outside of his will? If a man truly loves his wife does he seek every oppertunity he can get to cheat on her? No. Love dictates that we live for the other, and not for ourselves.

The Goal here is an all encompassing love for God. Not the empty motions of it.

Quote:Why are you incapable of answering the fucking question? Not just in this thread, but every thread.
Because the questions most of you asked are based on an incorrect paradyme. Let me ask you this. Who is most likely to have a better understanding of Christianity. The Christian or the one who professes there is no God?

Quote:Everything you spouted in your answer to this OP was well understood and the exact premise of the OP. Do you get it? A premise, not an answer.
If one understands the 'premise' he can come to his own answer. Christ taught this way. That is why He spoke/taught in parables.

Quote:You went on about the fact that one sin is equivalent to all sin, but left out the bit about original sin.
Because I teach directly from scripture and not a specific doctrine. Orginal sin' is a doctrine or understanding inderectly contrived from the bible but is not taught by the bible directly.

Quote:We don't have to do shit and we are all guilty of all sin. But, this wasn't the question.

Since we are all sinners, we are guilty of all sin. Only our love for god allows us to do good works.
noope. We are told in the bible good works mean nothing. (I know the pope has other ideas, but we/Christians do not worship the pope we worship the God of the bible so we must yeild to the bible and not the pope.

Quote: This means as long as I believe that a 2000 year old sacrifice absolves me of any personal responsibility I will be forgiven and get to join the country club. I can do whatever the fuck I want, may not be fitting for someone that loves god, but will not prevent me from going to heaven as long as I believe.
Noope again. For we are told (This time by Christ himself in mt 7) not all who believe are saved.

Quote:Do you get it yet?
Oh I do, the question is do you? Do you get that a 'death bed confession' requires more than a confession from your death bed? Do you get Christ is not fooled by the lip service of a professed believer. That belief in of itself is not, what is being required from you.. That true belief is made manifest in Love..

So I guess you don't love him then?

Um, a book "says" that actually. Hasn't been shown that's the word of God.

Funny how God was supposedly really talkative and intervening in human affairs during the times when the average person was very uncritical, unsceptical, illiterate, and gullible and the sharing of mass information across distances was practically impossible. Now that we have a much more educated and skeptical public (though not as much as I would like), we have cameras everywhere, the internet, 24/7 news, God is all the sudden more antisocial than the deist's God.

God is the God of the Natural universe. so it makes sense that God uses the natural processes to accomplish his will. Just because one can explain how or understand or label these processes now, doesn't make it any less Godly.

Very true! Creationists miss the true history of the planet because they want to insert ridiculous crap like the Garden of Eden and Noah's Ark.

Um, God clearly had no concern for natural processes when he was dropping mana from the sky, making donkeys speak, healing blind people, inspiring writers, and raising himself from the dead, etc.
