I'm not lost - I know exactly where I am. I do understand the Bible very well. I've studied it for 30+ years. I have put forth tons of effort to try to "know god." I was once a devout and terrified sheep just like yourself. I know exactly what you THINK you feel. I know what it is you THINK you know. My knowledge of your religion is extensive and that is part of the reason your people hate me so much.

Quote:Good luck selling Him on that one.

Thankfully, I don't ever have to worry about selling your angry desert god anything. Beings that do not exist tend not be too interested in buying anything.

I sometimes work with goverment level engineers, and it's been my experience, that there are two types. The guys who know what they are doing and allow their work to speak for themselves, and then you have the guys who have to remind you (Unsolicited) of their pedagree every so often just to let you know why there are allowed in the building.

If you think your pedagree affords you some magical power or incite that places you in a position to rain down a faith breaking arguement, then by all means.. Do so, why not start with the one that changed your faith and lets see what happens. (show me)

However if you are one who simply needs to remind people (me) of the sum total of your life's work every few weeks, then know you are welcome to do that as well. it's up to you.

Insight and incite are two different words.

And "pedagree" is just a made up word, like ooooooh, let me think..."god"
You are currently experiencing a lucky and very brief window of awareness, sandwiched in between two periods of timeless and utter nothingness. So why not make the most of it, and stop wasting your life away trying to convince other people that there is something else? The reality is obvious.

EDIT: Furthermore, are you trained in the languages you're translating from?

asked and answered

Edit: yes I was trained to use every scrap of reference material I use to translate.

I asked what lexicon you use and if you're trained in translation in Greek and Hebrew. What are your language credentials?

Again, this question has been asked and asnwered (By other people maybe 1/2 a dozen times since I have been here)

On line i use the Blue letter bible (which is a combination of the Strongs concordance and the Thayers lexicon plus, Several English translations, plus the Vulgate, and interlinear Hebrew OT and Greek NT.
http://www.blueletterbible.org/

At home I use a Comptons, Strong's exhaustive and a Bullingers.

In adition to informal studies with a pastor, I have about 2 years at Zion's hope under Dr. Marv Rozenthal
http://www.zionshope.org/index.aspx (A class that was offered in the late 90's but I do not think is still avaiable.)

After answering this question for about the 6th time here I know what your next post will look like. It will be a vain attempt to trivialize my efforts because I do not hold a degree from a major university. To which my response will be, none of my efforts have exceeded the limits or explainations provided by the material I reference. Meaning my job/My efforts here are not to interperate or change the meaning of the greek or hebrew texts (which is the only reason one would need a degree from a major university) I am simply pointing to the established/recorded meanings of the greek and hebrew texts. Via some of the very same lexicons used to construct certain translations. Something a trained monkey such as my self can do. For I do not stand on my authority nor my education, but the authority of the reference material provided.

Well then, that establishes all I needed to know about your credentials on the topic.
