Fuck This "Xtian Nation" Shit!
RE: Fuck This "Xtian Nation" Shit!
So you're dodging the fact that people suffered more after you split from England. Also had England not left, you would not have seen the destruction of the Indian nations....that's what the British were trying to prevent by keeping the Americans contained.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

Well, the British didn't have half their country's economy reliant upon the use of slaves.

I call BS on this... Manifest destiny was an American, not a British, idea, but the British had little qualms about destroying other native peoples, what makes Native Americans so special?

Just most of their colonial possessions.

Which wasn't actual slavery, not as it was practiced in the South.

Probably.

But I believe Biblical slavery more closely resembled indentured servitude, which was found in early Colonial America as well. Only difference was a slave had to leave his family after his time was finished if he wanted to remain free in Biblical times....if he wanted to stay with the family he created under his servitude, he would have to pledge to be with his owner indefinitely. Guess the society was not as big on family as the Christians like to believe....then again, divorce and multiple spouses (and concubines) was acceptable under Jewish law (that whole you shall not divorce thing and single spouse belief did not come around until Jesus' time).

Indentured servant

Leviticus 25:44-46 44 “‘Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. 45 You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. 46 You can bequeath them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life, but you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly.
Exodus 21:7-11 If a man sells his daughter as a servant, she is not to go free as male servants do. 8 If she does not please the master who has selected her for himself,[a] he must let her be redeemed. He has no right to sell her to foreigners, because he has broken faith with her. 9 If he selects her for his son, he must grant her the rights of a daughter. 10 If he marries another woman, he must not deprive the first one of her food, clothing and marital rights. 11 If he does not provide her with these three things, she is to go free, without any payment of money.
Exodus 21:20-21 20 “Anyone who beats their male or female slave with a rod must be punished if the slave dies as a direct result, 21 but they are not to be punished if the slave recovers after a day or two, since the slave is their property.

Well, that sounds truly horrible. Good thing Jesus...

Ephesians 6:5 5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ.

Luke 12:47-48 47 “The servant who knows the master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what the master wants will be beaten with many blows. 48 But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.
...approves... Sad

(...wait a minte...did a theist just admit that biblical values are no good?)

"Ephesians 6:5 5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ."

Right you are in quoting that, but that was written by Saul/Paul. That's why many don't like Christianity....that same mentality in different forms is carried throughout Christian belief.

Empires are evil min and belong in the dustbin of history where they belong.

Sorry queen. I don't like coming up with new things when it comes to history. Anyway indentured servitude is really just the same as slavery, the only difference being one is a set amount of time and the other indefinite.

This is what the question was in the 2006 census (LINK):
[Image: AustraliaCensus2006_question.png]

Notice that "no religion" is an option.
The "not stated/inadequately described" is simply people using their right not to answer an optional question.

In the 2011 census, it looked like this (LINK):
[Image: AustraliaCensus2011_question.png]

Notice the similarities.

In 2006, the people who answered "no religion" were 18.7% of the total population, according to the link you, Lion IRC, provided here:

In 2011, the people who answered "no religion" were 22.3% of the total population, according even to the information you wrote.

"Religion not stated" is something entirely different.
Yes, in 2006, there were 11.9% of the population who did not state their religion (your table S7.5 LINK):
[Image: AustraliaCensus2006.png]

This is what the stats look like in 2011 (LINK):
[Image: AustraliaCensus2011.png]

If you do the math, the total percentage there does not add up to 100%. Instead, it adds up to 90.8%, meaning that the "religion not stated" percentage for 2011 is 9.2%.

So, in total.
2006:
-> no religion = 18.7%
-> Religion not stated = 11.9%
+ Sum of these two = 30.6%

2011:
-> no religion = 22.3% (more than in 2006)
-> Religion not stated = 9.2% (less than in 2006)
+ Sum of these two = 31.5% (more than in 2006)

As for the christian numbers you're claiming... I don't see them.
Table S7.5 from 2006 and the table I put up show:

-> 2006 total christians => 63.9%
-> 2011 total christians => 61.1% (less than in 2006)

From Table S7.5
Total Christians '000
2006 - 12685.9
2011 - 13150.6

Now - True or False?
13,150,600 is GREATER than 12,685,900

Take your time. Dont rush it.

To work out the percentage increase...
13150.6 ÷ 12685.9 = 1.036 (x100)

WOW
Thats amazing!
3.6% increase
What a coincidence. THATS EXACTLY WHAT I WROTE!

RE: Fuck This "Xtian Nation" Shit!
That is an increase of raw numbers, not an increase in percentage. By that trend christianity will die in Australia. The only reason the number of christians in Australia increased is because the overall population did, and it would be unusual if at least some of them weren't christians. However, the overall population is growing faster. The percent of Australiens who are christians decreased from 63.9% to 61.1%. This is what really matters; if we took it by raw numbers then everything would be increasing, and we couldn't draw any conclusions from that.
Guess what? No religion increased from 3706.5 to 4796.8! And it actually increased in a way that matters; from 18.7.% to 22.3%! A lot more of a jump than christianity, wouldn't you say?
