Does it take only two hours to read/study the Bible? So much for equal understanding amongst purveyors of bullshit.

They "united?" I don't think so. In fact, one of Urban II's rationales for launching the Crusades was to stop xtians from slaughtering each other.

In the words of Robert the Monk, Urban II said:

Quote:this land which you inhabit, shut in on all sides by the seas and surrounded by the mountain peaks, is too narrow for your large population; nor does it abound in wealth; and it furnishes scarcely food enough for its cultivators. Hence it is that you murder one another, that you wage war, and that frequently you perish by mutual wounds. Let therefore hatred depart from among you, let your quarrels end, let wars cease, and let all dissensions and controversies slumber. Enter upon the road to the Holy Sepulchre; wrest that land from the wicked race, and subject it to yourselves ... God has conferred upon you above all nations great glory in arms.

BTW, they later made this murdering motherfucker a "saint."

Several centuries later.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

I think of it more as a political lie since I see governments using religions as tools for social manipulation and control. They are political scapegoats and pawns that you and I pay for in our taxes thanks to their tax exempt status.

That is how governments lend credibility to religions and in doing so push their Noble Lie into your pocket.

I bet you do not see yourself as putting your coin into that church basket eh. You do indirectly.

Only if they care about the money they are paying to have religious fools believing in fantasy, miracles and magic, dipping into their tax pocket.

Most atheists, being better educated in religion than believers will probably skip the clip on the Noble Lie as they will know what it is. I see that you, in your ignorance, do not.

Thanks for ignoring the issues in the O P though.

I think that even Martin Luther hated the Muslims and knew that the reproduction race was on and it was all a matter of demographics as to who would win out between Islam and Christianity.

Hence his barbaric-------

“If a woman grows weary and, at last, dies from childbearing, it matters not. Let her die from bearing - she is there to do it.”

Yes...1881 was at least "several" centuries later. Must have been a slow year for saints so they dredged this bastard up for the lunatics to worship.

Clearly the no amount of time would permit the unenlightenable to be enlightened.

Give christianity a billion years, and it would still be rooted in the same stupidity and ignorance that desert goat herders several thousand years ago would appreciate.

We give each one of your posts time so between everyone here who reads your convoluted justifications for an invisbile friend I think atheists can and do give you time. You simply don't want your arguments to see any type of self introspective mirror. Why not give that some time?

It is not any time you can give us, it is the time you deny yourself that should matter to YOU.

I think the title of the thread instead of being focused on one religion should be focused on the entirety of human evolution and our continuing gap filling stupidity, in co dependent "misery loves company".

If Christianity depends on Islam to exist then Jews depend on Christianity to exsit, and the Hebrew religion wouldn't have been invented if it were not for the polytheism of the Caananites. Misery loves company and bad logic depends on the false marterdom complex of comic book fans beating each other up.

1066. Before that time, Christianity was more (never fully because of heretical beliefs influenced by pagan understanding) unified and that Christians killing each other you mentioned was not an issue.

By your logic, there was never a United States prior to the Civil War because the South ceded from the North.

Urban II understood the murderous nature of so-called xtian warlords far better than you do.

He went hunting around for a convenient target they could kill....and of course, on the way they warmed up on the jews.

He also promised them

""All who die by the way, whether by land or by sea, or in battle against the pagans, shall have immediate remission of sins. This I grant them through the power of God with which I am invested."

"Let those who for a long time, have been robbers, now become knights. Let those who have been fighting against their brothers and relatives now fight in a proper way against the barbarians. Let those who have been serving as mercenaries for small pay now obtain the eternal reward. "

You probably accept such blithering nonsense too.

When the fuck was he alive? Oh that's right. The 11th century.

Try to get your years right.
