If my money is taken by force & the threat of imprisonment, then it is stolen- by definition. I don't want to support social programs. But I have to, so I don't get tazered and/or a swat team coming down on my crystal palace.
The same way a robber will threaten me with stabbing/being shot if I don't comply with his spending habits.
There's no difference really.

Quote:However, the electoral college also stipulates that every state gets 3 votes to start with. That meant that states with very low populations (i.e. Wyoming with its 576,412 people) have a more votes than they should have. Consequently, larger states have less votes than they should have. California has 55 electoral college votes. With its population of 38,041,430, it should actually have 65.
Absolutely right, Divi Tiberio. The whole principal of one man - one vote is stood on its head by that discrepancy. And, for that matter, by arbitrarily giving each state two senators no matter what the population.
This is another thing that the Founding Fathers did not foresee... along with the end of slavery, women voting, political parties and assault weapons. In retrospect, the FF did not do such a great job.

Obama won both presidential elections by significant margins of both popular and electoral vote, and you regressives still bitch about how the non-existent ACORN "stole the election".

Welcome to living in a civilization.
My tax dollars pay for a lot of things I don't support. I think only those who voted for W Bush in 2004 should pay for the Iraq War but that's not how it works.
Civilization isn't a-la-carte. It's not like you get to walk down the buffet aisle and say, "Hm, I'll take some roads and bridges but not public schools, thank you." Nobody promised you pay-as-you-please.
Additionally, you didn't make your money by magical wealth generation. You made it because you live in a civilization that enabled you. You have roads and bridges you use to travel to work. You have police and fire fighters who protect your assets from harm. You may have employees who were educated by public schools. And you sell your products in a safe, maintained civilization.

How odd that you would only list basic infrastructure, police, the fire department, and public education (and presumably military defense and the courts). I'd be very happy with just those! Not my ideal (especially public education), but I'd take it.

is bullshit but it is a damn sight better than you.

So if I give you a pizza, that you may or may not of wanted, without ordering or asking for it- and then demand you pay. That would be considered 'civilisation'? I mean, what you have just said, is literally crazy.

No, reducing DeistPaladin's point from the view that wealth generated requires a support network to appear in the first place to pizza delivery fraud and your apparent stated desire to not contribute to social programs (despite having benefited from them and other services) is "literally crazy".

Social programmes business and conservatives don't benefit from (these are all socialist ideas):
Public Roads (which they use to move goods to market)
Public Schools (they don't have totally illiterate employees)
Military (defend their profits, or sell products to it)
Police (defend their property)
Fire Departments (save their property)
Emergency Rescue Squads (save themselves and their workers)
Food Inspection (prevents their poisoning)
Exploration Leases on Public Land (oil, gas, &c) (essentially free)
Corporate Welfare (oil companies, NASCAR, &c) (self-explanatory)
Food Stamps (that programme is to support farm and agribusiness prices, not the poor-pays out lots more to agribusiness-betcha didn't know that)
Veterans' Administration (provides care to veteran employees so they don't have to)
Free Speech and Press (lobbying, lawsuits, &c)
Gun Ownership Rights (conservatives are only interested in the military and police owning guns-not_
Addressing Grievances to Government (petitions, lobbying, lawsuits)
&c.
--- ---
The concept of things for all, regardless of whether you use them or not (such as college or a printing press in my case) are all socialist ideas.
In a purely capitalistic society, you would pay for those things. In a dictatorship or feudal state you would not have most of them.
