RE: The end of the World is at hand.

Quote:Ha! I know, you're right about that one. But the end of the world was not even possible until at least the 20th century. When Jesus returns, "All eyes shall witness the return". This was not even possible until the invention of satellites, cable tv, internet. The book of Revelation mentions "fire raining from the sky". Unless he was either talking about nuclear war or meteors. Only John himself witnessed these visions. And I don't think he understood "nuclear missile". So he said "fire raining from the sky". In a recent interview Iranian President Ahmoud Ahmadinajad said, "Iran can rain down 11,000 missiles per minute on Israel". I will find link if you want..
Bullshit it was not possible: In one hand you want us to believe in an all powerful being who is capable of anything at all and then you expect us to buy the argument that he has to wait for nuclear bombs to destroy the world and had to wait for TV's and the internet because all powerful God couldn't manage to make us all see Jesus?
Another thing you clearly haven't used your brain for: Nuclear missiles do not look like raining fire, they explode AFTER impact, it's not even an intelligent comparison.

WWJD….(What would Jesus do)……
Lets see…
Quote:Own slave, but only beat them slightly as to not kill them.
Luke 12
Quote:Have a type of dictatorship in which you better love him more than your own parents and siblings.
Matthew 10
Quote:Favor one group of people over another
Matthew 13
Hate and jealousy, along with, (if you believe Jesus to be god)….Command the killings of tens of thousands, justify and ok rape, incest, ritualistic abortion, and infant killing.
What would Jesus do…He would tell the bank to go fuck themselves or suffer the consequence.
Quote:Not to sound rude, but the only idiocy are those people who do not read a book from 2,000 years ago, and see that current events are lining up perfectly. ie; Signs of the Times.
Signs of the times preached is nothing more than beating the same dead horse for the past 2000+ years. You do realize the end has apparently been coming and going for as long as we have recorded history?
Quote:Ok, I'll bite. All rivers will run dry one day. But why did John specifically mention the Euphrates?
It wouldn’t happen to be because that’s the river he was the closest to and knew better than any other……. Nah, that would make too much sense…..

Why not? Doesn't matter what river he mentions does it, they'll all run dry eventually.

If for instance he had mentioned the Nile drying up, then in hundreds or thousands of years when the Nile does dry up, people like yourself would be running round saying "look! the prophecy was fulfilled!".
Likewise, if he'd said *insert name of river that dried up hundreds of years ago* the people back then would have been pointing to that as a prophecy.
All we are saying is that given a length of time, any inevitable will happen. Any named river will dry up. It's about as prophetic as saying "The sun will rise"...it just takes longer for it to happen...

Um....they've already tried that, Adrian.
Quote: I will dry up the streams of the Nile and sell the land to evil men; by the hand of foreigners I will lay waste the land and everything in it. I the LORD have spoken.
Ezekiel 30:12
(Looks like god fucked that one up, too.)

The "end" will always be near for bible-thumping fools who go through life with their heads up their asses.

Love the deliberate clauses they have attached to their predictions that prevent any false positives from being attributed to error in the Bible and instead places them square on the person interpereting the book.
Actually wait, that's how they explain everything that contradicts the Bible...

What's worse is that an entire country can become brainwashed to this point.
Please give me a home where cloud buffalo roam
Where the dear and the strangers can play
Where sometimes is heard a discouraging word
But the skies are not stormy all day
