Any questions on Islam?

RE: Any questions on Islam?
Ah. I don't get how you can assume that

dn and dw -> p and not p
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

dn (Quran promises those who desire next world a share of the next world/paradise) -> (p)
dw (Quran promises those who desire this world that they will have no share of the next world) -> (not p)

If you desire both (dn and dw), you are promised contradictory promises (p and not p).

RE: Any questions on Islam?
Some people are handicapped, some were born into an islamic community and some in an nonislamic country. If god wants to test us - why doesn't he provide equal testing conditions? Is God just?
Why did Allah send so many prophets to the Jews?
If Allah sent prophets to all people - did he reveal his message in Arabic or in a local language?
Do you think it is ok for a 50 year old man to marry and have sex with a 9 year old girl?
Do you acknowledge that Muhammad ordered adulterers to be stoned to death?
Do you believe in equal rights for all religions? Should religious minorities be as free to promote their faith in Muslim countries as CAIR and other Muslims do here in the West?
A question to a Muslim convert is: Do you now believe that your non-Muslim family is destined to be burned in hell forever?
Why did god give women a pointless hymen and never explain that it is NOT a good indicator for virginity? Does he have any idea how many women have suffered needlessly because they didn't bleed on their wedding night?
What was the need of the bloodshed and violence from Muhammad, why couldn't Allah do it himself, or why couldn't Muhammad have acted in the way Jesus acted?
Why would a God who doesn't need humans create them to worship him ("and we haven't created humans except to worship us")?
What's the point of hell, and if God is merciful, why is it beyond even the worst of human evil?
Why does God test us, is he not all knowing?
How do you know you are not following a myth, like you believe everyone else is doing? (Followed up with a nice medley of quranic contradictions & scientific innacuracies)
Do you believe in your right to practise Islam in non Muslim countries? If so, why do you support the Islamic injunction to kill those who exercise freedom of conscience by leaving Islam?
Do you believe in human rights and the rights of all prisoners in combat situations to be respected? How do you square these principles with the mass killings of the Jewish tribe of Banu Qurayza by Prophet Muhammad?
Why did god create us imperfect, and then punish us for eternity for these imperfections?
Why did he provide us with a brain, yet no proof?
Can you name me ONE Muslim majority country in which non-Muslims can preach their religion (or lack of)? Can you name me ONE Muslim majority country in which a person like Richard Dawkins would be allowed to freely operate without any fear of repercussions by the public or state?
Why does Allah demand puritanism and chastity in this life, and yet promise sexual licentiousness in heaven? Why is that acceptable in heaven, and not acceptable on earth?

If the principle is that Islam renders things that are sinful on earth into acceptable practises in heaven, does that mean that other acts which are sins on earth are acceptable in heaven?
Why would Allah promise a heaven in which supposed sin is acceptable?
Did Allah (or the desert dweller) know about the rest of the world? (eg: Iceland, Antarktida, Australia, Americas …)
Why are Muslim men permitted by Islam to marry a non Muslim woman provided she submits to Islam, but a Muslim woman is not permitted to marry a non Muslim man? How do you square this with principles of universal gender equality?
Why will all the non-muslims go to hell forever but even the worst of muslims will eventually go to Paradise after doing their time in hell?
How can someone who had 9 wives (who were always fighting and jealous of each other) worthy of prophethood? How can someone be the best human being and yet treat women like sexual objects?
Why did the prophet have sex with his slave out of wedlock, whilst he was still married to another women?
Why hasn't been any case of an amputated limb regenerating in recorded history?

-Why is music Haram?

-Why is chess Haram?

-Why is fucking Haram? (specially when we have contraceptives)

-Now that we have DNA parental identification, why can't women practice polygamy?

-Why does Allah need us to do complicated rituals? can't he just measure the faith in our hearts?

-Why are there congenital deformities? didn't Allah say is the Quran "we created you in the best form"?

-Why are their famines?

-Why are there natural disasters?

-Why does Allah allow Satan to exist?

-How is Mohammed's military conquests different from Israel's occupation of Palestine?

-Why is a woman's testimony in court equal to half of the man's testimony?

Why god created the penis with a prepuce, then order us to cut it off, He could not do it himself, was he squeemish? Was it a design error? Why animals get to keep it, and men have to cut it off?
If santa clause cant fly with a dozen reindeer how the hell can MO fly on a horsie and "visit" the heavens ?
Is it because I believe in God that I follow Islam, or is it because I trust Muhammad? If it's the latter, how do I know?
Were Eskimos at the poles supposed to do during the month of Ramadhan where the sun rises and then sets after six months - starve to death?
Did Allah fail as a parent to teach Iblis manners?
Did Allah, himself fail to save Satan going the wrong path?
Why did Mohammed say Arabs are the best of people? What proof does he have for this? How can he say this when the earliest converts came from Etopia and Persia?
Why didn't Allah protect all the other religious texts that came before the quran?

Why did Allah wait until 570 AD to send a universal messenger for the ummah??

Why is that we cannot find a single record of monotheism before the late bronze age?

Why didn't Allah's message ever reach the Ancient Americas??

Do you believe that a poor Christian, Sub-Saharan African youngster who dies at the age 18 because of malaria will spent eternally in hell??

Why does the Quran contain Duas??
Who is Allah making dua to?

Do you believe in Black magic??

Why is Allah's message constantly changing e.g:- Not banning Alcohol on all the other ummahs that came before the prophet Mohammed.
Why is Allah invisible?
Why is the Lord of the Universe, the omnipotent creator of all that exists, the eternal, immutable author of existence, unable to make his chosen believers anything more than a minority amongst kuffars on planet Earth?
What was Allah doing for the billions of years before humankind existed, and then developed reading and writing and settled organised society, up until he decided to send his message to a man in the desert in a language spoken by a tiny, marginal group of humanity?
Why does the quran say that everything was made in pairs when there are organisms that reproduce asexually?
Why does Allah have so many human characteristics? Why is he angry, jealous, and controlling? I mean, how can he let tiny and insignificant humans (whom he created and planned out btw) bother him so much? Doesn't he plan everything anyways? Doesn't he know what's going to happen? If so, why does he express anger towards his own creations?

Why is Allah both passive and aggressive? DAMMIT, DO WE HAVE FREE WILL OR NOT? Why does he play this cruel game of being the powerful omniscient creator proclaiming that everything was his plan all along yet still pinning responsibility on us?
How did Mohammed finanace the Ummah during Medina? (The Khadijah Fund? Robbing caravans? - Oh, did I say something wrong?)
------------------------------------------------------
“What is the benefit of Allah adding the underlined bit in 2:196:
...fast three days during the hajj and seven days on return - making ten days in all..."
Why does Allah need to use the limited and precious space in his last divine revelation to mankind for all time to tell us that:
7 + 3 = 10
----------------------------------------------------------------
1. why does a nonarabic muslim have to pray to the lord in a foreign language he doesn't understand? Is god incapable understanding other languages?

2. why does someone even need to speak, when even thoughts would be sufficient?

3. how can you claim that idolatry is forbidden when the entire muslim world turns towards a Stone in Saudi Arabia to pray, and in order to go in heaven they have to visit the place, and make circles around it. After that they have to throw stones at some idols representing evil?

4. why do we have an appendix if god is the creator and evolution is a lie? Did god just screw up while designing adam?

5. Why did god put the forbidden fruit in the garden of Eden, knowing that the humans will eventually try it, since he knows everything? if so, how can humans be sinful if god planned this thing from the beginning and made them so?

6. how come your god allowed alcohol in the begining, telling people to just come sober in the mosque, later changed his mind? if he is omnipotent, omniscient he would not change his mind.

7. you claim that angels do not have "free will" as humans do, hence they are almost robotic servants of god. How come that Satan could rebel against god ? and why the hell would god need helpers if he is omnipotent.

8. how can god punish you for something he himself wrote, so you are predetermined to fail or win. Is he a psychopath or not omniscient?

9. how can you call life "a test" if the results are already known?

10. You say that we live in order so god can justify his verdict by facts. Does this mean that god needs to justify himself before his tiny creations?
Why is the Qur'an revealed in only one language if it is for all people of Muhammad's ummah? Surely if the message is universal it would be revealed in multiple languages to make translation easier? An all-knowing god must understand this...
Why is Muhammad the last prophet? Does Allah not understand that more prophets who perform mircacles is a good way to make people believe in him?
Did the adam and eve story literally take place?
And why wasn't the Qur'an revealed in a language that is easier to understand than Arabic (people are always saying that to truly understand the Qur'an, you have to read it in the original arabic), and why did Allah not make the Qur'an easier to understand for your lay person, so you wouldn't need scholars to explain the meaning to you?
QUESION NO 1
Do you believe god is omnipotent?
If he is omnipotent can he make stone which he can't lift?

QUESTION NO 2
Do you believe god is merciful?
If he is merciful why will he torture non believers forever in hell?

QUESTION NO 3
why the punishment of apostasy is death in islam?

QUESTION NO 4
why does quran promote wife beating?

QUESTION NO 5
why does islam allow sex with slaves?

QUESTION NO 6
why does the quran allow slavery?

QUESTION NO 7
why does islam allow polygyny? isn't it injustice towards women since they are very possessive about their husbands?

QUESTION NO 8
why did islam allow mut'a (temporary marriage)

QUESTION NO 9
why were people of banu Quraiza brutally killed?

QUESTION NO 10
why is music prohibited?

QUESTION NO 11
why are pictures haraam?

QUESTION NO 12
why does one have to grow beard if he wants to be true muslim?

QUESTION NO 13
why does muslim believe that uncovering ankle is a necessary part of a male muslim's dress?

QUESTION NO 14
Dogs are man's best friend? why does islam prohibit dogs?
"You claim that Islam is against idols. Why do you have to turn to the black stone in order for your prayers to be valid? Is god able to receive your prayers only if they are directed on one particular way and one particular language? if yes, it means your god is not omnipotent."
"How come god first allowed alcohol, and forbid only going drunk to the mosque and then a few years later prohibited it completely by saying that alcohol and gambling are works of the devil. Did Allah not know this a few years back?"
Which is more immoral and why: someone having sex with their girlfriend, or someone having sex with their slave?
Who would you rather have marry your daughter or son: A Muslim extremist or a Non-Muslim?
Why did eleven wives spread their legs for Mo (PBUH) to discharge his holy seed when the Quran sets an upper limit of only four wives per man?
If the Islamic defence of polygamy rests on the notion that it affords women a romantic outlet in times of war that see a dearth of eligible men, quite why is it that a man should not marry five women instead of an upper limit of four if the lack of men is so dire and if the situation demands it in order to prevent the proliferation of lonely hearts? Does it follow also from this premise that in geographical regions where men vastly outnumber women as is famously the case in China that a woman should be given the license to bed more than a single husband or is bed hopping a phallocentric enterprise??
As recent scientific studies prove, a woman is a mentally and religiously deficient creature, and could not possibly satisfy two men, three or four. A woman cannot satisfy even one man fully. A woman is better in her natural role as a willing womb and as a humble caretaker of her husband's affairs. Allah is clear on this, and He is Most Wise, Great?
What happens to the souls of those that had no contact with Islam what-so-ever, meaning that they don't (didn't) know that it even exists?
"If the Quran was the final message for mankind, then why was alcohol only banned in the hadith?"
Why did it take 23 years to write Quaran?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. By what right did mohammad receive prophethood? Even in the
quran 29:27 that JACOB AND ISAAC inherited prophethood in their
lineage, NOT ISHMAEL!

2. Did Aisha STILL play with dolls AFTER Mo married her?

a) If so, she had not reached menses and makes him a super pedo wanker.

2. Didn't Mo say a man needs ONE WITNESS and a woman needs TWO.
WHO witnessed the angel talking to him? Not Aisha, it was second hand
information, and needed at least TWO WOMEN to witness it, and how old
was she when he told her all about it?
Answer:
Sahih Muslim Bk. 008, No. 3311
Aisha reported that Allah's Apostle married her when she was seven years old, and she was taken to his house as a bride when she was nine, and her dolls were with her;

Sahih Bukhari Volume 8, Bk. 73, No. 151
I used to play with the dolls in the presence of the Prophet, and my girl friends also used to play with me. When Allah's Apostle used to enter home they used to hide themselves, but the Prophet would call them to join and play with me.

okay. how about this one. When those fatwagandists were wooing me, they told me how admirable mo was cuz he married a jewish widow. What they "left out" was that she had just witnessed her father being killed by Mo's men, and her husband horrendously tortured then killed. If i recall, Mo tried to "talke" her that night, and she begged him to wait, so then he took her the next night. Then I read this:

The Muslim is not permitted to wear a mourning band, discard his adornment, or change his usual attire to express his sorrow and grief. (The wearing of black as a sign of mourning is prohibited in Islam, even in the case of a widow in mourning for her husband. (Trans.))
However, a wife must observe a mourning period ('iddah) of four months and ten days for her deceased husband in loyalty to the sacred ties of marriage; in Islam this period is considered an extension of her previous marriage and she is not allowed to receive any new proposals of marriage during this period. Thus, she is required to refrain from adorning herself during that time both as a sign of mourning and in order to keep the thought of remarriage out of her own mind and that of her potential suitors. However, if the deceased is someone other than her husband, for example, her father, brother or son, it is haram for her to mourn for more the three days. Al-Bukhari reported concerning Umm Habeebah and Zaynab bint Jahsh, both of whom were wives of the Prophet (peace be on him), that at the time of the deaths of Umm Habeebah's father Abu Sufyan bin Harb, and Zaynab's brother, each of them perfumed herself, saying By Allah, I am not in need of perfume, but I heard Allah s Messenger (peace be on him) say, It is haram for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to mourn for a deceased person for more than three nights, except for the husband (for whom the period of mourning is) four months and ten days. (Reported in the Book of "Funerals" in al-Bukhari's Sahih.)

So this ruling doesn't apply to slaves, or just Mo was excluded from honoring this?
Or is it because she was a jew he just HAD TO HAVE HER? I call that rape. What say
ye?

If Islam is so obviously the best religion in the world, why does it have to be enforced onto people by fear?

If Islam is such a miraculously true faith then why do we condemn questioning it?
Why doesnt God send another prophet to help clarify all the confusion about Islam?
If so why didn't Allah protect the book of the Jews and Christians and why didn't Allah just create a tablet that couldn't be corrupted by any man ?
I mean,he created the whole freaking universe and he can't even protect his little book from being corrupted by puny humans ?
Why does Allah blame and punish humankind, when he is the author and engineer of everything ever created ? Is he mental ?
If a holy text were hard to understand, is it just to blame the unbeliever in case he fails to recognize the truth in such difficult message?

If a holy text were easy to understand, what is the purpose of scholars?

And, on top of that, how could a non-scholar know who is a scholar and who is not?
If he had enough knowledge to tell the interpretation of a true scholar from the interpretation of a false scholar, wouldn't he automatically have enough knowledge to understand the true interpretation of the holy text by himself?
WHY is it so hard for people to agree on such a clear precise religion and just follow it- even after 1400 years? If anything, its getting worse...
If Islam IS a religion of peace, why did mo say NOT to greet non believers with asalamalaikum?
Why was the rest of the universe created when only sun and earth would be enough for Alah's stated purpose?
Here are a few. The first one is obviously the most important

If Allah wanted men to have short moustaches, why not make the hair grow short just as eyebrows do?

Can a mass murderer be forgiven, but not someone responsible for shirk (association)?

If there is no compulsion in religion why do you not wait and ask your son's if they wish to have their foreskins cut off?

If Muhammad really went on the night journey how did he pray in a temple that no longer existed? If it was a spiritual experience then why is Al Quds holy when he didn't actually go there?

Some people have a physical split down their brains and have two personalities. When one side is a Muslim and the other a Kuffar, what happens to the body when they are resurrected?

After creating Satan, good, and evil, why would Allah then make man flawed enough to be mislead and then punish US for it?

Why does Allah want us to believe Islam without evidence and reject everything else that has none? And then punish us for eternity for choosing the wrong unsubstantiated claim?

Where is the great wall that traps the people of gog and magog until judgement day? Is it near the edge of the Earth where the sun sets, or the other edge where it rises?

Why would Allah use a method for determining prayer times that is so difficult for people near polar regions?

If Islam is such a perfect system, why do so many people disagree about what they should be doing?

Couldn't Allah have made the Quran so clear that we don't need scholars to tell us what it means?

If Allah sent Muhammad to clarify his message because Rabbis were misleading people, why are there now so many Islamic scholars misleading people?

Why can men have sex with slaves but unmarried women cannot?

Why does Allah allow marriage between cousins but not unrelated people that have had the same wet nurse?

What was the point of putting things in the Quran that only the author of the Quran understands?

Why did Uthman burn all of the other Qurans if the Quran was unaletered since its revelation?

Why do Muslims accept aid from non-Muslims? Didn't Allah tell you not to take kafir as “friends and protectors”?

Okay.. so i have been watching "Through the Wormhole" on the
science channel every wednesday, and I must say, this is getting
interesting. Several questions came to mind, when I started thinking
about allah creating humans as his favorite pets, and wants all other
creation to bow down to us. So with that in mind,

WHY did allah create poisonous snakes, poisonous spiders,
lions, tigers, bears, alligators and crocs, sharks, humbolt squid,
komoto dragons, box jellyfish, hippos, and a host of other creatures that
have maimed and killed countless human beings?

I mean really, if we were to be bowed down to, why arent hyemas
doing so?

What about locusts, who destroy millions of dollars worth of crops?
No rhyme or reason for them to randomly hit X number of farmers
when they swarm?

We have to build our own shelters to keep us from hostile weather,
and what about tsunamis, hurricanes, earthquakes and tornados?
Sand storms, solar flares, drought, and floods?

Science has taught us that all of these are part of our eco system.
Its what keeps this old ball turning and sustaining life. But
these things also includes countless fatalities for humans. Again,
both the faithful and others. Indisciminately.

What about ice ages and global warming? We arent causing them,
they have been going on since the beginning of time. At one point,
there were less humans on the earth than there are gorillas today.
We almost went extinct a few times. Some of our "cousins" DID
go extinct (ex. Neanderthal man)
1). Why did Allah reveal his book in a language that was pretty much extinct a few hundred years after the Qu'ran? A language which even the 90% of Arabs can't understand now and 99.9% of the muslim population can't understand? Surely, Allah, being the all-knower would know this would occur and reveal his Qu'ran in another language, or perhaps send down an alternative Qu'ran along with the original classical Arabic one for the future generations. This means that very early on in Islam's history people have had to depend on translations from others for them to truly attain the message of the Qu'ran. If the Qu'ran is very simple and easy to grasp it's message, as Allah claims, then how come only a tiny minority of the population today can only really understand it in it's original form? This also creates many problems and conflicts when the Qu'ran is translated into different language by various people as many of the translators have different views on what some words mean and hence the original message is sometimes lost.

2). Why did Allah make many additions to the religion during the time of the Prophet Muhammad? It seems that Islam is a completely different religion compared to Judaism and Christianity, which Allah claims to have preceded Islam. So many new additions are made such as: prayers 5 times a day, Hajj, Umrah, Ramadan, new laws ect. Why did Allah wait for his final messenger to deliver all these new concepts into his religion and why not implement them from the start?
why did Allah choose warfare as a method for spreading his religion?
Do you personally believe 5 billion good moral non muslims deserve to burn in flames while you sit in heaven indifferent? Are you ok with that?
When the sun expands in a few billion years, and the earth is incinerated, and all life ends, and even further, when the universe ends billions of years further away (just in case humans have colonised other solar systems) - does that mean Allah has died too? If he existed simply to create us and make us submit to him, what will be his purpose when no humans are left, indeed when no universe is left?
If we get everything we desire in Paradise, what if someone desires to spend an eternity with me but I don't want to spend an eternity with them? What if one's desire is to have sex or a relationship with a particular person, a person who rejects their interest? I guarantee that's one of the most popular desires.
How can anyone be happy while knowing their parents or their children are being tortured incomprehensibly painfully, and will be forever, without respite?

RE: Any questions on Islam?
Not only have I not read all the posts in this thread. I couldn't even see them over the wall of words in the last post.

My questions are:

1) Why are Muslims so superstitious about seeing images of their prophet?

2) Why do they care whether people who don't share that superstition make images of that prophet?

3) Why do so Many Muslims feel entitled to push for secular laws to reflect the tenets of their own faith? In other words, why should anyone have to suffer religious oppression at the hands of another faith?

[I have a bias that anything worth saying can be said simply and succinctly. I will never wade through a post like your last one so keep it brief.]

Hi welcome to my thread,

1) We're not superstitious, it's not allowed for us to draw Angels, God, prophets etc. for many reasons.

2) Same reason why black people care if a newspaper prints racist black insults or draws a racist pic. Same reason why Jews get offended when "revisionist" historians deny the holocaust etc. etc. It's all about personal sensitivity at the end of the day. Something you find insulting, I might find acceptable, and vie versa.

3) Nobody should suffer religious oppression or persecution. You might want to ask the people about that, not me.

Why do Muslims believe homosexuality is wrong? Is there something in the Quran I don't know about that prohibits homosexuality?

Depends what you mean by "homosexuality". Being attracted to the same sex is not a sin. But acting upon it by engaging is sexual actions with the same gender is a sin, yes.
