Well... Earth's behavior is actually rather predictable... which is why we have calenders
The weather is also predictable... that's why we are told what the weather will probably be like a week ahead of time

Yeah but natural disasters still catch us by surprise, though technology is doing a damn good job at predicting them. The earth still is a fascinating wonder imo.
