Do I sin because of Adam?

I also believe that the Bible, in its usual sexist manner, totally made the chick eat the apple on purpose. The story of Eve eating the apple has been used so many times as justification for women being below men.

You are correct about why some think women are below men, yet in reality they are equal in God's sight. The men of that age were the driving force and so they put women below themselves. I know what Genesis says, however you need to read the entire Bible and find the things God actually say about women.

Do that sort of analysis on the entire book and you'll find yourself deconverted.

I know what scripture says about women, I also know what God says about women. Turn from my faith, my knowledge of God, give up His love and my love for Him, throw away my best friend, yea right, hell will freeze over first.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

This brings up a few more questions: What would the world be like if Adam hadn't eaten the apple? Would there be evil in the world? If there was no evil, would lucifer still be god right-hand man? Would Jesus still have been born? Would bacon still be as tasty?

These are the questions that keep me up at night.

Ok, not really but it is an interesting thought.
You sin because your a slave to it. Meaning because of Adam you have been able to identify it and acknoweledge that what you do is sin. Our 'freewill' comes into play when we choose to seek attonement for sin.

Perhaps you're a "slave to sin" Drich, but you really don't know enough about Baal (or anyone, really) to make that statement. In other words, speak for yourself.

Because of Adam eh? What adam? What sin? What freewill? What attonement?

I have a hard time joining these discussions because I have a hard time taking seriously anyone who believes in a literal Adam. That's one disadvantage that Atheists will always have against the religious, they start out pretty much knowing where we stand. On the contrary their beliefs are all the fuck over the place. Would the Theists in this thread be so kind as to indulge me whether or not they believe Adam in Genesis was a literal person?

1. Yeah, that's the meaning I get out of it.

2. If I play the "god made us that way" card, will you play the "the perfect product deliberately broke itself" card? Would it help to note that god purposely allowed the devil himself to influence those who did not know right from wrong? (How would "perfect" be defined here? Is it simply the absence of sin?) Sorry if this turns out to be a strawman, but I've seen the argument take this turn many times before.
