So, just to recap, you don't have a key that shows when something should be metaphor, and I don't have a key that shows when something should be literal. Looks like were both left with nothing but whats on the page - which again, is dragons.

I was taught Eve was the reason we sin.
I also believe that the Bible, in its usual sexist manner, totally made the chick eat the apple on purpose. The story of Eve eating the apple has been used so many times as justification for women being below men.

Not quite accurate.
I'm not giving you a key for anything. I'm relaying simple facts to help you not be such an obvious sheeple.
You ignore the fact that most religious and secular scholoars agree to the basic history of the OT. You should look into that.

My thoughts on "sin" are not that of your standard Christian. I would say there are humans who are "sinless". Small children and mentally handicapable people come to mind as examples.
Think of what they (Adam and Eve) supposedly had (everything was good or very good) until they ate of the "tree". Nothing changed except their own perception of the world. The were first ashamed for being naked, then they hid and then tried passing the blame when questioned about their actions.. I think of that shame, the recognition of things that weren't (I.E. not clothed, not to blame) and the scapegoating as the first "sin" not the so-called disobedience as most preach.
One thing is for sure though, I don't read it as a fundie would...
