ohhh, I get it now ... Your question in the OP was a set up and you expected us all to say that "of course there would be less wars". Except that we didn't (because we're not retarded), and now you're left to somehow pin the idea of atheism to the religious column on your own.
So was this thread you created always about how atheism is a religion or did you want to stick to your phony question about atheism and wars??

My research goes far beyond the Internet and I know that many Buddhists would deny the existence of God...
Not an atheist religion?
I'm not sayings atheism is a religion or setting you up so please spare the "theists are stupid" prejudice.
I do know that there are Buddhists that claim to be atheist...
Are they wrong or is Buddhism not a religion?

It's a religion that incorporates atheism, not an "atheist religion". The lack of a belief in a god is not the driving force behind the religious principles in the way that calling something a "christian religion" describes it as a religion whose principles are founded upon the notion of christ. Subtle but important distinction. It would be difficult to form a religion with atheism as a basis thereof - difficult, but probably not impossible.

I've been over this:
There are atheis'tic' 'religions' (more like worldviews).
There are no atheis't' religions. See the difference?

I'm not sure I understand the question. Rephrase, in any case, in response to the possibility, why not? People make up batshit religions out of nothing all the time, you know, like islam.
However, for something to be an "atheist religion" ala "christian religion" it would have to go along the lines of
"because I do not believe in gods I should" yadda yadda yadda- the religious bit would have to follow from the absence of belief (as the religious bit is purported to follow from the belief bit in other religions - a point which i would contest - by the by)- which is a non-starter. Not that this could really stop people, as I mentioned above, they're all no-starters and we do it anyway.

Is there someone engaging in this conversation that I can't see...because I'm starting to wonder who you're talking to......
