It's only cuz they didn't have TV or film. Hadda occupy themselves somehow, right?

I nominate Tolkien. His shit made sense.
Monty Python would have been more fun.

You sound as if you believe they are praying for help.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

This was the very first reason why I started doubting god's existence when I was like 8, why did god always intervene in the olden days, but now he does fuck all to prove fuck all?

Historically it is difficult to find a plague in Christian Europe without mention of the accompanying prayers. It is equally difficult to find a report of prayer shortening the duration of the plague. Were you offering the observant a gimme? In fact there are many similar records of pagan prayers for plagues to the same null effect.
How can this be?

And you know the plague was not ended sooner, how, you're sure the plague just ran it's coarse.

Don't be childish, I made a statement about you, God will help people and does without prayer. Why are you not helping these starving people.

Not necessarily, but then you will have to ask God about this one.

Then why bring it up? If you're going for ineffable and mystical, I have to say it's been done better.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
