Are theists not capable of honesty or what? Is this something exclusive to Atheists like "thinking for yourself"? Your self-righteousness rating is off the charts.
Interestingly, that you took my words and somehow turned them into a personal attack against your honesty means I just learned something about you; your reading comprehension, if nothing else. Your projection rating is so far off the charts it punched right through the dimension barrier and ended up somewhere in the reality on the far side of the one next door.

Even if I wasn't explicit, I also think my statement applies to believers that want to say how stubborn and vile some atheists can be, but that would be just as boring and trite. But you're right I cannot stop people from being boorish and trite. Maybe you should avail yourself of that other 90, Chad, because you don't appear to be able to say dick in 10.

I've found I can have fun with people I disagree with .. not always at their expense. Talking to people of different ages I'm often reminded of what it was like for me at the same age and sometimes that makes it easier to accept the times I was a jerk. RE: Learn Anything Yet?

While I am of course always grateful for amateur online psychological assessments, perhaps we ought to take a vote - maybe I'll start a thread on it. All I'll say for the here and now is, clearly you don't know me very well. I would suggest a leisurely stroll through my post history but that would depend entirely on you being motivated enough. You do appear to have some fascination in me and my character, so maybe you will. Edit to add: On the other hand, I've never, ever expressed anything like the following... At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

You're very close to using argumentum ad populum in a bid to change how I should perceive your posts. Unlike you, I was actually using humour. It's quite funny how you're more than happy reffering to my posts as a display of arrogance Mr. 'I think for myself' Honesty? Perhaps take a look at.. you know, a mirror? Perhaps take a look at.. you know, a mirror? Hello, I'm Mr. Buttinski. I couldn't help but notice you calling Simbo "Mr. I think for myself". While I think that he is adept enough at that, to the extent any of is, I just wanted to point out that I've never heard him say anything of the kind. In the couple of years I've been hanging around it isn't anything I've heard him boast of, ever .. not even a little. You didn't ask but I'd like to offer my observation anyway. I suspect you've had plenty of encounters with atheists who came off as condescending and boastful of their independent thinking as evidenced by their having slipped the chains of religious dogma yada yada yada. It is a common enough phenomenon to encounter among atheists here as elsewhere. But you've got the wrong guy. You may be mistaking his high manners as evidence of condescension. But I have found that his good manners are really consistent with a quite genuine concern for others. If you think you've experienced something else from him I'd really encourage you to go back and find and then re-evaluate what gave you that impression. I think you might find you may have misinterpreted something. Perhaps not, we're all human.
No, I don't "have the wrong guy". It's very clear what type of person he is judging from his posts, I don't care how many people on this forum vouch for him, I'm judging him based upon the facts, what he writes, you know....what he's actually doing?

Did I mention he has a sense of humor? Better get that autograph while it is cheap.
Man I think you have something to offer Ideologue and would like to hear more of it. But you've got to work out whatever your issues are with imposing your standards on everyone else. You're new here. Don't be too let down when we don't turn ourselves inside out trying to live up to your standard. Right now you're kind of coming off as a drama queen. You don't want to be that guy. |
