They wrote much cooler stories than the Bible. And at least they admit their gods are flawed beings. Their Greek gods almost had a soap opera going.

Arguably, Christians are closer to worshiping Zeus than the traditional OT Hebrew god Yahweh. I've posted all this before, so forgive my repetition but this really bares repeating for anyone who hasn't yet seen this.

Yahweh never strikes anyone with lightning in the Bible. Not once. Not even in the NT. He uses columns of fire, disease or opening the ground and swallowing sinners up. He was once a volcano god in his younger days, so the fire motiff makes more sense for him.

Zeus was the god who smote sinners with thunderbolts. His description also seems like the Christian god, an old yet youthful man, long beard, sits on a throne in heaven and has children with virgin women on earth.

Satan seems like a cross between Pan (the goat god of passion with his satyr legs and horns) and Hades (the god of the underworld). Personally, I'm just happy for Pan that he managed to get a new job after being replaced by Dionysus. Unemployment is tough on divine beings and you can only buy so much ambrosia with their food stamps.

God of the bible killed first borns, incited massacres, left his own son to be tortured to death, turned people into pillars of salt just for looking in the wrong direction ! Killed moses just before reaching the promise land because he tapped a stick the incorrect amount of times, plagued people, drowned people including women and children. He put an apple in a garden specifically to test humans so that later he could punish them with pain and toil, working in the fields, he's like Stalin and Hitler combined multiplied by 100 and with magic powers.

Yeah, I have to concede your point that the Christians worship a meaner god. Maybe it's because Zeus got laid a lot more while Yahweh needs to sublimate his sexual frustration into violence and cruelty.
