I had the pleasure of introducing my wife to The Last Picture Show the other day. She liked it more than I had expected. I think there's something about Ben Johnson's character's speech at the water tank about age, regret, and lost love that resonates in ways that will move most people of a certain age.

It's a beautiful, understated film. Check it out if you haven't.

I saw that one in the midst of nearly a hundred young men with guns. The ambiance was different from a theater in the US. The additional dialog was epic, however.
