Free will seems to be yet another illusion. Unless...you like the strings that control your decisions.

No strings controlled my decision to accept Christ, nor study scripture and live my life accordingly. You may not like the idea of free will, and I understand why, but that in no way negates my free will, it does hamper your's and that's sad.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Our actual situation is probably much more complex than either free will or no free will, but there is no reason to worry about an afterlife judgement day when the creator of everything will decide whether to keep you around or subject you to never ending torture. That is just a crazy idea. It deserves no consideration.

And there goes your precious free will down the toilet right there.

Interesting, because other Christians, even on this site, say that we have free will only in the sense that we are free to sin.

What say you to that?

How can it even be free will when one choice leads to eternal torture? It's like a kidnapper holding a gun to your head and saying "Do what I say and you don't get hurt!"
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

God does not decide you make the choice and God gives you what you choose.

You had the choice and God gives you what you choose.

I say this, I have never disagreed with that, however when one doesn't accept fee will wouldn't one act accordingly thus limiting ones idea they have choice.

That argument has been shot to death by the Christians here, find something better if you can and leave the childish stuff alone.

I am unfamiliar with this refutation. Please provide an example of such.

Oh yeah, I remember that: that was the time that we atheists brought it up, and your answer was "no, it's nothing like that."

Your refusal to actually answer sure shot the discourse to death, but I feel like the argument was missed entirely. I bet it felt lucky!
