Impressive, really, in a sort of sad and revealing way.
Almost like GC's god is made exactly in the image GC wants it to be.

You can safely assume that you`ve created God in your own image when it turns out that God hates all the same people you do.

Personally, it's not the people who talk to God I'm afraid of, it's the people who claim that God talks to them who worry me.

David Berkowitz thinks you're overreacting. His neighbor's dog thinks that a .44 slug in your face would resolve the issue.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Y'know, I can always tell when you've run out of steam, G-C; that desperate moment you resort to tossing around the personal insults like child-safe foam rubber toy grenades is a dead giveaway. My advice, should you choose to accept it, is never play poker. Your tells are just too (note spelling) obvious.
Knew you would have to come up with a distraction, that's what you do when you have no answers, now you want to take a stab at an answer.

You're dumber than I thought, just go look in the mirror and point.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

The ad homs are palpable on this thread. hiver:

Anyway, I think the Christians on this Thread have made some pretty good points about why prayer is important, though I agree with BWS that the icky feeling sucks when people tell me that they'll pray for me. (As a Mormon, I get this a lot from other religions.)
I think the point of prayer is only what you make of it. "Ask and ye shall receive". It's simple if you use faith. God will mete out to you what he desires to give you. He's fickle like that, as is his prerogative. If a person starts a prayer and doesn't expect much, he won't receive much.
Prayer is useful if one actually makes use of it.
