Believing in creation (that God is the creator) and being a creationist (believing that God created the universe taking the metaphors literally rather than as intended) are two different things.
I think though that Nora meant it in the YEC kind of way, not 'I'm a believer, so yes, I think God started the universe for his reasons alone'

When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human.
