Attn: Theists - What would it take to prove you wrong?

1. God just is. He is all. His existence is immune to the inquiry of origin. His abilities and attributes are immune to logical laws.

Once convinced of this, they think the following to be quite obvious, and in fact feel quite confident in fabricating the following...

2. God is the origin of all things. Logical laws are prescribed by him. No ability or attribute held by God can be rationally understood by man.

The third rule is excersised quite frequently here, which is:

Any objection to rule 2, refer to rule 1.

God doesn't have an origin, I keep having to repeat this point for some reason.

Quote:"Why can't the universe not have an origin?"

1) The universe began to exist

2) If there are physical laws that created the BB they all began to exist effected by a cause as well

3) You have to start the ball rolling from somewhere else the ball would never roll

4) You need an explanation for anything/everything that exists that begins to exist

The reason is because you keep asserting the following:
Quote:1) The universe began to exist

2) If there are physical laws that created the BB they all began to exist effected by a cause as well

3) You have to start the ball rolling from somewhere else the ball would never roll

4) You need an explanation for anything/everything that exists that begins to exist

Assertion is not explanation. So everything has to be caused, in your words, the ball has to start rolling. Except your god. Who was born rolling?

You don't even know that the universe began to exist, no one knows what happened before planck time. GAAAH everyone's been saying the same thing for so long and you're not addressing any of it.

Id it's gone dull it from continued blows to your thick skulls. If something begins then it something made it begin else it won't have ever begun to begin with. The starting point of everything anywhere that ever came into existence never itself began to exist and therefore never had an origin, it is therefore eternal. This is something you can figure out with the need of scripture, holy texts or revelation of any kind it's very simple deductive logic a child could understand.

Nothing has been asserted this is deductive reasoning that can be used as proof that God (any God it doesn't have to be the Christian one) has to exist. If you want proof you have a form of proof for God existence this way.
Come all ye faithful joyful and triumphant.

What causes virtual particles to pop into existence?

Wait, wait.. Let me guess: giddidit? Amirite?

I'm rather interested in this phenomenon where religious people are SO FUCKING SURE of themselves. Like seriously, they assert absolute statements like it's nothing. Is it something that develops as you get more and more practiced in avoiding reality?

Laws like electromagnetism do not apply YET if there are no charged particles or magnets to begin with. Gravity does not apply until there are particles with mass. The weak nuclear force does not apply until fermions like a proton are for instance absorbed into an atom triggering beta decay. The strong nuclear force does not apply until there are neutrons and protons to bind together.

Laws are not applicable until the necessary components are in play... get it?

*Childish. I for 1 am childlike. Tongue

Demonstrate that your god exists and that he was not created, SoC.

I see it like this. Two balls are rolling around randomly on a flat plane. One big one infinitely small. When they hit eachother: BAM! All the energy is transferred from the big ball into the little ball. No god required.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.
