Attn: Theists - What would it take to prove you wrong?
RE: Attn: Theists - What would it take to prove you wrong?
"For the gate is small, and the way is narrow that leads to life, and few are those who find it," (Matt. 7:13-14).

"For many are called, but few are chosen," (Matt. 22:14).

"Lord, are there just a few who are being saved?" And He said to them, 24"Strive to enter by the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. (Luke 13:22-27)

"And Isaiah cries out concerning Israel, "Though the number of the sons of Israel be as the sand of the sea, it is the remnant that will be saved; 28for the Lord will execute His word upon the earth, thoroughly and quickly," (Rom. 9:27).
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

You're responsible for your actions and non actions. Lack of belief want hold water at the judgement.

Are you saying that you believe in salvation through works rather than salvation through faith?

So in essence, even if you don't know there's a god, or that there is a god who will judge you, you're still culpable, despite the fact that the god is capable of revealing these things to you (see 'The Problem of Imperfect Revelation')?

That's definitely not nonsensical...

"I shall hearby punish you for failing the test, as well as failing to realize there even was a test to begin with!"

He'll probably respond that salvation is through faith alone, but as a Christian he's still called to abide by God's laws. That's what I would have said if I were still a fundie-Christian anyway.

Reconciling the unreconciliable? Mental gymnastics, this is.

I do not know if this is meant for me, but I'll respond just in case. I know that more will be in hell than heaven, I understand the verses you have quoted, I've never denied those verses. I'm always sad when I read those verses because I understand how easy it is to listen to the calling of the Father through the Holy Spirit. I also understand how self can get into the way. What I also believe is that God only promises to call once and, that is grace, if He calls more than once that is grace multiplied. I'm grateful that God multiplied grace to me.

But when one gets brushed off as much as the Christians do here, we can become less caring because of the experience. Sorry that I came off as brushing you off.

Tonus Wrote:No worries, I wasn't offended by it. I am aware that you guys get a lot of abuse here and as I have stated in the past, I have no issue if you decide to dish it out as well.

Thanks for understanding, I do at times spout off when I feel or know I'm being targeted. I shouldn't but at times the human nature takes over. What I find though, the ones who dish it out to Christians rarely can take what's returned at them and it definitely shows in their words. Again thanks for your understanding.

No, scripture definitely says that salvation come by grace through faith. I've always taken this stand and will always take this stand, works are a response by those who are saved.
What I meant by being responsible for one's actions or non actions is one doesn't have to do anything to recieve eternal punishment.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Matthew 7:13 Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Jesus claims that "many" will be destroyed and "few" will be saved.

Jesus does not mention anything about hell here.

Well, I'm not sure. Lost? (My wife said, "unsaved."). But there is not mention of Hell. missluckie posted that "The bible says a MAJORITY of humans will go to hell."
I just wanted to know where in the bible the bible says a majority of humans will go to hell. That verse doesn't even mention hell.

It feels like you're tap dancing a bit. Are you suggesting there's another fate in Christian Theology apart from Heaven or Hell?

No tap for me. Ballroom only. I am not suggesting anything. I just want to know where the Bible says that a majority of humans will go to hell.
