It's 2am.... this phone is still under treatment...
Had to give up on the global ROM... that uninstall bug was a deal breaker.
Now using the chinese ROM... MIUI 7.2... Sad Better than MIUI 8, anyway!

Time to restore the backup.

Just started the 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime and that was a hard decision going against some heavy bias against it. As much as I try I can't justify it (£79 a year) based on the free one day delivery - I have no problem waiting a few days for orders - or most of the content of prime video - b-list films and TV I've never heard of and stuff they probably couldn't pay people to watch. Just basically the equivalent of the free classics that the kindle provides. Anyway what swung it for me - at least to do the trial - was fancying an episode of x files and finding that all of it's available in prime. And then after that finding that they also have the walking dead. So there are a few big names in amongst the chaff... just enough to tempt suckers like me Big Grin but the question is, are those two box sets worth £79? I don't know... or if I should just try and binge watch them in this free month. I doubt I'll stick with it because it just doesn't feel like a good deal, but see how it goes. At least I got to watch an x files and a walking dead tonight so worth doing the free trial at least I think.

hmmm... I've been watching the walking dead through... ahem... other means...
All I did was google "walking dead streaming"... and one of the first hits had it all... The concept of paying to watch stuff that plays on tv for free is a bit beyond me...

Ah, I'm just not comfortable with that... no problem with anyone who is because I know it's an ethical question that swings both ways... eg Amazon is clearly taking the piss with how it handles streaming... overinflated prices and limited/uncertain 'ownership' - ie they can revoke content seemingly pretty much on a whim or when their licencing agreements run out with their 'content providers' but that would never happen with DVDs. But nonetheless I don't feel comfortable with it or even just watching a TV show someone has uploaded to youtube. It's just not me but if it's you, then more power to you Smile

My family seem to love Amazon Prime, and if they think paying £79 a year for a shitty streaming service with barely anything good on it, then good luck to them. I must admit though -- sometimes it is nice getting parcels a day or so early but most of the time I am patient and can wait.

I'll stick to my methods of obtaining my favourite shows.
