I'm up fairly early this morning, yet I don't feel shitty and tired like I usually do when this happens. Maybe that walk before bedtime helped. I'll have to see.

The forum didn't have many new posts, so now I'm at a loss as to what to do. I've got a bunch of movies rented and a bunch of books to read, but it just seems like the wrong time of day to be doing those things. Now that I've rented a bunch of movies, I feel like I have to watch them, which makes me not want to watch them. Being a human being is so complex.

Reading about politics and prepping for the August 14th primaries. It's an open race for my district, which is expected to go blue, but I feel like Goldilocks: this candidate is too hard; this candidate is too soft; none of them are just right. So I've still got some work to do.

Just learned both Patriot Prayer and the Proud Boys are assembling just down the road from my house for their fascist rally in Portland om Saturday. So of course I'm going to taunt them.

Three words:  "Emergency Scallion Run."

After ballet tonight I had to get a bunch of green onions for a pot of hot and sour soup.  I've been collecting ingredients for the past week but fortunately chose to double-check the recipe before I headed out to class.  In addition to the onions the soup has deep-fried tofu, marinated slices of pork shoulder, fresh shiitake mushrooms, garlic, chicken broth, white pepper, Frank's hot sauce, sushi vinegar, a splash of Shaoxing vinegar, two different types of soy sauce (because I had it in the fridge, mainly), sesame oil, bamboo shoots, a drizzle of egg beaten with a bit of cornstarch and water, and All The Ginger There Is.

It was nom.
