What's everyone up to right now?

If they made it too entertaining, people might just show up to sit in the waiting room and watch TV.

The mattress I ordered, a Nectar Hybrid, arrived just before noon.

I figured that six hours is probably enough time to let it decompress (it’s one of those mattresses that comes vacuum packed into a smaller box), so I just brought it into my room and I’m lying down on it right now. So far, so good. The only bad things is that it’s bigger than my old mattress. So I may need a bigger fitted sheet. And deconstructing my bed might be a bit harder with this mattress, but I managed to do so without letting another person into my bedroom. And I guess Alison and I will have to take out first nap on it soon.

Of course, the real test for me isn’t “does it feel good to sleep on?” It’s “how long is it going to hold up to being both lain on and sat upon for long hours of every day?”

Making fajita marinade/stuffing.

Do they really make mattresses that are both for laying and sitting, these days?
I would think that the sitting part would be too hard for laying and vice-versa, the laying part would be too soft for sitting.
Perhaps you would do better with a sort of mattresss topper for sitting?

Desired softness for lying down depends upon multiple factors, including weight, sleeping position, and so on. What's right for a skinny side-sleeper may not be right for you. For what it's worth, both my bed and my couch are too soft for me to lie on for extended periods (more than 12 hours) without experiencing discomfort. Yet at the same time, the cushiony softness of my couch is great for sitting and most excellent for lying down to watch the game. (The bed is 14" memory foam. The couch is a hybrid with both memory foam and individually wrapped coils.)

Doing a little budgeting. I was going to put my brother-in-law's birthday gift on a credit card, but see that there's no need, I can just pay out-of-pocket.

Actually, post-plague, with more people working from home, often sitting on their beds with their laptop, it seems to be a growing consideration.

Just from my own experience, it is a lot easier to get used to a mattress that is too firm than it is to get used to one that is too soft. Not to mention that toppers can address firmness, but not softness.
