Ordered a set of AI translating earbuds for $11. They might help learning Korean, they might not. At the price, I thought I'd take the gamble.

Unboxing and installing a Walmart ONN brand Google TV clone. It seems nice so far. It's busy updating the firmware. I tried an old Fire TV stick, but couldn't get the right remote.

My Walmart order is delayed for some reason. Hopefully it's just a hiccup.

Morning coffee and pills. Looking at B850 motherboards. I have a B650 board picked out. The B850 is a minor tweak to the B650 chipset. I'm not seeing any that justify spending more money than the B650 costs.

My rent check finally cleared. That was the only outstanding worry preventing me from going ahead and ordering the parts for my new gaming PC.

A few decisions yet to be made. New power supply or no. I could get by with a $20 adapter, but the assured solution involves a new power supply. And I need to decide whether to order the high power Nvidia graphics card right away, or spend $85 on a temporary, cheap card. The cheap card would run the bulk of what I want and be a nice addition to my computer toolbox. On the other hand, I likely will buy the Nvidia 5070 within three months, so it would just be an extra $85 to my budget.

Ordered everything but the PSU and GPU. I bid $100 on an RTX 2060 graphics card. We'll see. I have mixed feelings about it, but it might run a lot of what I want the new PC for, and if not, it's good to have on hand for future uses, particularly testing a new platform when I upgrade my desktop in 5 or so years. I could also swap out the 6700 XT in my desktop for it, as my desktop really doesn't need much anymore as I seldom game on it, and most of the games I play aren't demanding 3D titles but 2D based stuff.

Ordered a graphics card. I opted to go with a 5060 Ti rather than the 5070. For the 30% slower GPU I got $10/month cheaper and, more importantly, 16 GB of VRAM versus the 12 GB on the 5070.

ETA: Changed my mind and went with the 5070 after all. It's only got 12 GB VRAM, but that mainly means playing on lower settings. It's a bit of a toss-up because 16 GB of VRAM does result in some important benefits, but so does a faster GPU.

Re-packing casters to send back. I ordered four identical sets (I double-checked my order) - three sets were fine, the fourth was the wrong size, wrong load rating, and non-retractable.
