Why am I an atheist?
Well...
Religion is just...what, you're saying some infinitely powerful being meeting very specific parameters made the universe because...MAGIC, since, you know, we need to know why the universe exists, but God exists...just cuz. And you don't even believe in magic...
Uh...most theistic claims just struck me as patently ridiculous the moment I actually started thinking about them. I only began researching and developing more complex arguments against theism after this very blunt realization.
Also, I had, and still have, never seen anything in religion that could be interpreted as evidence for god unless taken on 100% faith, which I used to do. And then I realized how stupid that was, and dropped the faith...and then this happened.
