RE: [split] Dependents and money for consoles

I'm a gamer, i've owned several consoles - never again.
They're such functionally limited machines, they have seriously inhibited the rise of games with complex, multi-level story lines and decision based causality (ala Deus Ex). The controllers are lame, mouse and keyboard absolutely destroys in terms of comfort, speed, accuracy, customization of binds, navigation, natural movement in-game etc..

The older ones perhaps but now they are more like multimedia machines; still not as useful as a pc, but getting there, and they are more powerful for gaming, so games for xbox will be better than games for PC.
Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

I had a ps3, i am talking about the current technology.
Xbox 360 Better than a gaming PC? I haven't laughed that hard for a long time, seriously, i hope you were joking. A gaming rig, for the same price as a console system, will always be more powerful. And the PC isn't locked away from upgrades after it's released. While the console owners are stuck with the same aging hardware for 5 years i'm throwing in a new GPU or another stick of RAM and running any game at the maximum possible specifications. Gaming on a PC brings so much more detail and definition to the game, opposed to the slightly-blurred-to-look-smooth style of console games.
Add to that the fact that most console games run at 720p resolution while my PC is 1900x1200... I'm puling 2.5x the resolution you are, and laughing at your pussy console that won't even do anti-aliasing! Even with "HD" Games my resolution > your resolution.

No, the xbox 360 is better than a pc of the same price for gaming. You could spend $2000 easilly on a gaming pc, but for the price of an xbox, I have yet to see a good PC of any kind.

Xbox 360 Pro 60GB = $250
PC Core2Duo E4400 + Motherboard + 2GB RAM + 9600GT 512 + Case/PSU + 200GB HDD = $258.33
That PC, a mid/low end gaming rig, would absolutely demolish the 360 as well as performing loads more functions, having more storage space and being able to play newer generations of games without compromising quality for console compatibility (done far more often than you'd like to admit).

PC: Kingston 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 1066mhz.
360: 512MB GDDR3 @ 1.4GHZ
Win for PC already, made worse by the fact that the 9600GT has another 512MB GDDR3 @900MHZ dedicated to graphics...
Motherboard was a Biostar G41-M7 1333Mhz
HDD - Hitachi 7200RPM SATA 8MB Cache
Need any more specs, or will you admit the facts favor the PC?

I can get close to that price on hardware too, with 2048 MB DDR2-800 ram and 320 GB S-ata HDD

I priced out those components minus the case, wich could be made of cardboard and still do the same thing, I got about 300-350 dollars, and that still has no dvd drive. Im not saying PC is worse or better than console, but I am saying for the same money it is worse; and for xbox 360 you can buy more expensive models that are better, the best being about 500 dollars I think.
