Greek in the first century was only capitals.
No punctuation or spaces between words, either. Lower case letters did not develop until the Middle Ages.
Why Don't Christians refer to god as yahweh

I like this thread. It makes me chuckle.
Arguing about the origins and pronunciations of mythical beings is fun. It's like that old classic debate, "When Did Santa Clause Move to the North Pole?" Lets check all our information on folklore and fairy tales to find the truth. Cause you don't want to take the jolly fat man's name in vain ... he sees you when you're sleepin and he knows when you're blasphemin. RE: Why Don't Christians refer to god as yahweh

Intact many don't even seem to be aware that God's name is Yahweh and that by saying god, your not taking anyone's name in vain Well, I sometimes use Elohim or El Shaddai, but I believe the other name you mentioned was a name that was not to be spoken...since it is four letters in the Hebrew, I believe in Koine Greek, that name is referred to as Tetragrammaton. The real reason is the Christians you probably know are English speakers.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

Yes we get the word itself from Greek - τετραγράμματον (Tetragrammaton), and it means four letters. So if YHWH is a tetragrammaton ("the" Tetragrammaton) then YHWDH is a pentagrammaton. YSVO is another tetragrammaton, no prize for guessing what name that one is.

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. There were clean athletes out there that have had their whole careers ruined by people like Lance Armstrong who just bended thoughts to fit their circumstances.
