Why can't non-christians talk with god?

I have sought God earnestly too, but have little to show for it. My Christian friend says that my life is clouded in sin and that is why God does not bother with me. I am vexed about this.

Even the best of Christians have sin in their lives, so if your friend believes this is what's keeping you from hearing from God and you are earnestly seeking, then your friend is wrong. You do need to go to God with your heart open to hear from Him. God does want you to rid your life of sin, it is what God wants to save us from so we can have a relationship with Him. Keep your chin up and keep talking to God.

Well, then, how would you respond when someone says they sought god earnestly but found nothing?

A god would still have to be POSSIBLE - to exist.
IF you actually read the bible - and make a list of all the claims of the powers of the god - and then add those added in by the religions - it is NOT POSSIBLE for the xtian god to actually be and do all those things.

So - the xtian god is impossible.

WHen xtians reduce their claims to a position that is possible - then we can again consder it. But then - if Xtians on earth do it - that makes the god - manmade

Probably by either claiming they didn't look/pray hard enough, or else just ignore it.

I've brought up on these forums about how when I was questioning my faith I asked for God to show me that he was real, and nothing happened. That was one major reason I became an atheist.

What if He sent a messenger for you to speak with?

Then he failed to satisfy the criteria I spent that sentence describing.

What if you quit making excuses for an absent god?

So all those good Christians who prayed to god to cure their child's terminal disease.

And god ignored them.....

What did they do wrong?

Maybe, SoC, you can help me with a hypothesis I have...

I would say we should have a sit down and discuss what you did to earnestly seek God, in my experience with people those who actually sought God found Him, those who played at finding God did not. I mean none of this to reflect on you, just giving you what I've experienced with other people.

Are you positive you didn't already have what you wanted in mind, many have talked themselves right out of a relationship with God. Only asking to see if you might have considered you wanted God not to be real.

Nothing, it was probably outside of God's ultimate will. I know it sounds bad but, God's ultimate will benefits all even though we can't see it, being omniscient has it's benefits.
