I see no way this could ever backfire!
November 12, 2013 at 12:29 am
So a Christian group just air dropped thousands of bibles into North Korea.
Leaving aside, as the article notes, the fact that the people of North Korea would probably be more in need of food than bullshit, let's also consider what's actually happened, here:
A group of christians, under the guise of helping people, just dropped a load of what's considered subversive material into a tightly controlled, secretive and violent country, with the aim of getting it read by the populace. What, exactly, does this group think is going to happen to those who are caught in possession of a bible? Or worse, who has actually converted?
Even if this plan works as intended, it's only going to end up harmful!

In the eyes of the Christian, those that convert and are potentially killed have been eternally freed, and arguably are the luckiest ones.

Read this on HuffPost today.
All they'll achieve is getting anyone found with the book killed.

Yup. Even if that means initiating the 'freeing' through proactive bible drops.
Idiots.

Christian's Thinking:
A Christian's Thoughts Wrote:Hmmmm ... If I pull this off, all of the other christians in my church will think I'm a bible rock star. I'll be the Indiana Jones of missionaries - risking my life to get god's word out. SWEET! Even if they get killed, they'll be saved by my lord jesus and they'll go to heaven, which is way better than living with their families in crummy old Korea. Yuck! What if they don't get saved?? God has a plan and if they don't go to Heaven than they weren't A.S.K.ing the right questions to find my lord jesus anyway. What if the Korean army find them and kill them, leaving their children behind to fend for themselves?????
...
Meh, they're just koreans.

.....So your 'thoughts' are to force North Koreans obedience in their state mandated worship of their 'great leader' as God? To not allow them the material needed to question the authority nor the deity of Kim li sung , or his progeny?
Wow... I can tell you and your peers really thought this one out.

Yeah, because without the Bible, they'll *never* come to the conclusion that something needs to change.

Yes, because if I don't want one thing to happen, I must logically want the exact opposite to happen!
Oh wait no because that's really fucking stupid.
If you were capable of nuance, you'd understand my actual position, which is that this bible drop is nothing more than self aggrandizing piety porn on the part of the christians involved, and that rather than actually having an effect on a dictatorship that we all agree should be disassembled, it actually poses a direct threat to the people likely to receive these bibles.
Do you read posts before you disagree with them, or does your nonbeliever antenna just come up when you look at the religious beliefs of the poster, and decide for you?
