You should try some of those avenues of free thought, Drippy. Put down your stupid fucking bible and think a little.

Maybe they are doing it in a way they don't want the North Korean goverment to know about, so they (in this story) tell them to watch the skies but the bibles are really being shipped in another way.
That is the secondary reason for stories like this or sometimes even the primary reason for them. Just like all of the false propaganda CNN was feeding us on the invasion of bagdad. The Gub-ment knew the Iraqies watched CNN too, so they had CNN say we were at one place when we were some place else.

Hm. What the N. Koreans really need most is information. We have the technology to suppy entire libraries of information contained in a solar-powered device. They can have not just a Bible, but practical information on technology, history, current events, politics, philosophy, and so forth. Such a thing would be a real treasure, and I wouldn't mind it containing a Bible as long as it also contains science. It could all be stuff in the public domain, making the only cost the device. It would be a good project, and it seems to me that every group wanting to get their favorite book in would be willing to contribute for that consideration.
Of course, it would need a safe delivery method.

Useless too I am afraid.
"You shall have no other God before me," is not the same as "I am the only God - all the others are fakes."
Their Great Leader will simply point that out and tell them that he is another God. Looking at the other quotes I provided the "great leader" will probably allow Christians to worship theirs on the basis of their total subservience to his rule - and then only if the movement became a threat.
Of course Christians would hail this as a great victory - the rest of us, however......still look upon the despot with despair.
If this were the case why are bible having to be smuggled into the country and not mandated reading?

Besides, unstunting North Korean children might give them the intelligence in adulthood to show up idiot christian proselytizers, and how would christains avail themselves of the complacent feeling of being the saved ones then?
You guys have no idea what you are talking about. Maybe do a google search or something before you speak. Food/aid all of it goes through the goverment. Meaning the Goverment and goverment employees eat first, and even stock piled before it is turned over to the people. There is no red cross there is no aid from out side sources for all the N/K's know. It all comes from their 'great leader.'

In that type of society, it'd be virtually impossible for those in power to not realize that their citizens are being given smuggled ipads or what have you. In the end they'll be the ones to suffer for it.
There's no easy solution to the north korea problem, but I don't think this would be one of the avenues. They barely have enough food to eat, I watched this documentary and the streets are so empty, these people are incapable of mounting a revolution even if they want one.
If we're talking about giving them a better quality of life, I have to say food trumps books any day when they're starving so badly.

So the North Koreans wouldn't need to go through the hassle of replacing one tyrant who won't feed them, but would force them to read self-serving tracts, with another?
So they can stay with the one tyrant who at least exists, and whose power over them is self-admitted to end at the boundary of the real world, and not have to go deeper into the hell of prostrating themselves to another that doesn't even exist, but is nonetheless to be taken to be able to go on terrorizing and infantilizing them for all eternity?

Ironically, all 'information' unless it is filtered through the N/K goverment is considered properganda from the devil himself.
The only way to really break a theocratic rule (as history shows) is to allow is to have one God to be proven to be stronger than another.

Uh, no. It is to have a world of ambitious, visionary men proven more productive, more intellectually rewarding, and bountiful then the one stifled by any despotic god, whether a chubby, frowning one in a mao suit or a half naked one nailed up on a plank.

Then I hope they don't start shooting at planes that fly over their homeland under the pretense that they may be smuggling stuff into the country.
