This is as much a fact as anything really can be. These interpretations may not be the same as yours or even compatible with yours, but people do have them. Lots and lots of people.

As a Muslim you can't use the word God in the phase bismillah al rahman al rahim because God is ambiguous from the Muslim point of view. If you add an "s" it becomes Gods, if you add father or mother it becomes Godfather, Godmother, if you add "dess" it becomes Goddess, if you add "less" it becomes Godless. Surat Al-'Ikhlāş112:1: "Say, "He is Allah , [who is] One,"

That's why Muslims use Allah because you can't play around with the word it means Allah the one and only, Allah the greatest, most gracious, most merciful, bismillah al rahman al rahim. You also have to say MOST gracious MOST merciful. Attributes have to be UNIQUE. God the gracious is blasphemy. You can say a stripper is gracious but Allah is MOST gracious.
