I think the onus is upon you to explain how an animal could possibly give informed consent to sexual activity.

The fact is, the definition of marriage wasn't as it is now, even in recent memory: it wasn't that long ago that marriage was defined as between two people of the same race. It got changed then, and shockingly, we haven't had this cavalcade of pressures to change it again so that people can marry sheep, or toasters can marry drywall. It just hasn't happened. To treat this new push for gay marriage as the thing that's going to "unravel" the definition of marriage is to show either an ignorance of history, or a desperation to find some answer to this question that doesn't expose the bigotry at its beating heart.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but in many cases of bestiality, the animal giving consent is the human.

You will see animals giving their consent to all sorts of stuff.
Oh yeah, and the next time Mr Krauss gives a talk about how many animals have perfectly natural, normal, loving, committed homosexual relationships, please to email him to let him know that animals can't give consent therefore all homosexual behaviour in the animal kingdom is non-consensual ie. rape.
(If you really do think animals cant decide such things)

Don't mention it.
I did spend way too many Sundays watching BBC wildlife, so.. yeah...
before sex is allowed, the male must court and the female consents only if she deems the male worthy.... kinda like humans! 
Which is not to say that it doesn't happen...
