To be honest, I believe it may just be how an individual develops their personal tastes as they grow. I for one am heterosexual, and am not attracted to to the same sex. I once watched a same sex pornography just to see if I may have been into homosexual sex. To my surprise, I didn't have any emotional response. It was just like watching a really boring pornography. I didn't have any personal taste for the same sex and therefor had no interest in same sex pornography, so, it's probably just personal taste.

That's not to say I think this is the be-all-end-all answer to "what causes homosexuality," but I do think it's probably part of the puzzle. I don't think there really is any one, single answer, though.

As a gay guy who is into Psychology I always wonder if we will ever find out what is going on in our minds that define what we are attracted to.

I hope one day we will, but sometimes I hope we don't in-case it drives some people to try and find a "cure" for us

That's kinda what I was thinking, about finding out the cause, and then certain groups wanting to find a "cure".

I could see the right wing fundies' response to three different scenarios:

It's caused by genes? Good now they can make a drug to alter the genes.
It's caused by choice? Now we can just teach people how to make the 'right' choices.
It's caused by nurture? Now we can just teach parents to raise their kids the 'right' way.
Etc etc....

On the other hand, the scientist part of me says it's still good to know just for the mere fact of knowing in itself.

Why the fuck does it even matter what "causes" it? Will it make a difference? Obviously it isn't a choice, but what if it was? I choose shit every day and what? Ohhh, because if it was a choice it would be "unnatural" and therefore wrong? I chose to take the unnatural Tube to work today instead of walking, and sometimes I take the unnatural bus. Every few weeks I choose to change my hair colour with unnatural dye. Where's my hate party?!

I don't get it, and I doubt I ever will.
