CHISTIANS PLEASE EXPLAIN "the walking dead"

CHISTIANS PLEASE EXPLAIN "the walking dead"
Matthew 27:51-3 describes the "resurrection" of many godly people who rose from the graves and exited the cemetery on Good Friday and returned to Jerusalem where they were seen by many people, earthquake and rocks breaking in half. If true, this event would have stunned all of Jerusalem, unquestionably been documented by numerous sources, as well as other gospels and in terms of shock value would have dwarfed even the resurrection of Jesus. Yet nowhere, not even in historical non-biblical records. Only in Matthew does anyone speaks of this resurrection-related miracle. C'MON.....

it isn't in our nature to think of a God, it is in our nature to seek answers and the concept of God is most influenced in this world.

yea, usually they make some semantic dodge or just change the subject with picking something you said and try to make an argument of what you said.

oh and you have to love the effort to try to fit in some context to what they think god meant.

Yeah, I think this was probably "creative license" (lit, shit he made up) on the part of Matthew, or whoever wrote that gospel. As you say, there would have been a bit of a stir had that happened.

You'd think there would be some extrabiblical report about dead people rising from their graves, and an eclipse right after they executed one of the criminals. Or that some of the 500 or so people that saw Jesus would write something down about it, other than the bible. And do it shortly afterwards, instead of a decade or so like with Paul.

Go ahead. Tangents are fun. I've heard things like Paul originally meant Jesus as just a spiritual being. He wasn't some carpenter's son that died on a cross.

Who ever said myths have to be believable? Aren't they always kinda over-the-top? Isn't that part of what makes them myths? Smile
