@Drich, so, it was god who kept you from being killed in a near accident that he could have prevented from nearly happening? Sounds like a power whore this god of yours does. Please drive more carefully on wet road surfaces. You could have killed someone all because of your hurry to pass another vehicle.

At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Have they ever thought of the actions of others or themselves may of actually solved the problem not god. Or maybe it was chance that something happened. What about all the times he didn't answer?. Be thankful for your friends family, health professionals("answered" prays are usually related to health), they helped you or saved the life not god. That's the thing about having an inscrutable god that only ever works behind the scenes and in "strange and mysterious ways." Prayer always works! Did you get what you prayed for? Let's check the score sheet: seems we need another thread on the difference between petition and prayer. God always answers "Prayer" in the afirmitive. Petition however can be a little more tricky. Matthew 7 (January 31, 2014 at 7:57 pm)It Is i Wrote: I'm self righteous? How?(remember at the end of this you asked.) First we must look at the word beyond it's typical misuse.. Biblically It refers to a standard or righteousness one hold above the standard or righteousness of God. If one has a standard in which he can use to then judge God, he is using a personal for of righteousness or Self Righteousness. With this definition we then turn to your posts and see if it applies to anything you have said, to which we find: Quote: Sounds like a power whore this god of yours does. This is a self righteousness statement. If this were not enough the Merrium Webster dictionary defines Self righteousness as: convinced of one's own righteousness especially in contrast with the actions and beliefs of others : narrow-mindedly moralistic. Which again fits your assessment of God. Quote: I reminded you of a truth, and you thanked me for doing so. Were you being sarcastic? The thanks for the reminder was separate from my identifying your self righteousness.
I am not convinced that your god's righteousness is greater than or equal to my own. The feeling of self-righteousness in relation to a purely contemptible monster is not necessarily a negative quality.
