Sorry. I have a degree in Philosophy and you make no sense. Truths do not differ. Opinions differ and beliefs differ but truth does not please explain.

Indeed truths do not change. Neither was that what I suggested. I said that we had posited different 'truths' insofar as what we had suggested was contrasting as regards the truth.

Perhaps I should have said that our beliefs in truth differed and that our perceptions of what we held true were dichotomous, to that end I admit my inadequacies.

Indeed, truths do exist before they are widely accepted to be truths, that is quite right and a valid point. However, perceptions of truth that defy natural law and superimpose desires over logic should not be held as viable truths insomuch as they have no veracity in fact or reality predicated upon accepted notions of what fact and reality are.

Well, I have finally finished the letter that I will hand in tomorrow morning. It states, clearly and with intent, that my religious beliefs have altered to such an extent that I find it a matter of personal and professional integrity and duty to inform the board of governors of such a matter.

I go on to suggest that, although I do not agree with the catechism and Catholic doctrine, I am prepared to teach such material with respect until there comes a time in the immediate future when I can leave the school and continue my career in a secular setting.

I have requested that the board offer me a full meeting to further discuss the letter if they see fit and guarantee that my answers will be provided with clarity and honesty.

All I can do is be fair. It is the only way I can hope to be treated fairly.

It is now a matter of waiting for a response and continuing to look for a job elsewhere in order that both parties can come to an amicable solution.

I am nervous. Very nervous.

It is indeed a possibility that they may ask me to stay on and continue to teach the catechism. However, how long that would be permissable and plausible is quite another thing. My constitution for such gross dichotomy between the personal and professional would almost give rise to some contentious possibilities.

That, and it always possible that colleagues may cast me as the turncoat - though this is not particularly likely. I cannot bear the thought of those I have love and respect for being completely without such sentiments for me.

In short...I would be unlikely to accept such a compromise for any longer than would be necessary to find a new position elsewhere.
