Nice and simple tutorial. First timers may find this one a good read too, as it contains graphics for how to craft certain items:

Main thing to remember for first timers is that the first few days (Minecraft time) in Minecraft will be slow and you won't get much in the way of exploration done. However once you've set up a shelter and got some tools built, you'll be able to explore more and more.

My first shelter is normally a cave. Either one I carve myself, or one that I find and seal up if it's a tunnel. Considerably easier than gathering supplies and building up, and I like to use the daylight hours to gather other basic supplies anyway.
Lately I've noticed fewer monsters spawning in survival mode. Is everyone experiencing that? Some night go by without much of a peep from monsters.

It says "you are not permitted to build" , I can't build anything .

Did you PM me your username? I need to add you to the permissions system (by default you can't build because we don't want griefers coming along and destroying everything).

I bet that you wouldn't have said that without seeing my last post saying(briefly) "I'm gonna try MC , maybe I was wrong about it".
a 12 years old kid would have said : "Fuck ya all , i'm not trying this game ever cuz it sucks and i'm never wrong about games".
Are you saying that cuz i was judging a game from a graphics quality perspective that i'm a 12 years old ?
No, I said it because you think those graphics suck. It makes me think you're not old enough to remember when
half the fun of a game was interpreting what the graphics were supposed to represent through pressing buttons and seeing what happened because the graphics basically looked like dog vomit. The fuck is even going on there? Who knows?
If this was the state-of-the-art in your childhood, and you learned how to play video games by trying to figure this shit out with your toddler's brain, as I did, Minecraft looks downright Hollywood by comparison.

I added (between 2 brackets) this : "compared to what games' graphics are like these days" .
But I understand your point now, you weren't trying to say that i'm a kid, but you were trying to remind me of the games I played in my childhood.
A simple misunderstanding...
PS : I definitely didn't play that last one

what do you mean by the loneliest number ?
PS : I can smell a joke a mile away, but not this time , alice.
Incorrect. Why I would say ' our number is uncertain' is because he asked 'what are we, 12?'. I intentionally ignored his direction of insult to fuel a laugh about his word usage.
Then I lit it aflame:

This song is a classic.

You do '12 year old kids' a disservice, sir. They are no clone army, and this is not the division you're looking for.
I'll take 'cocksure rascals' for 500.

That's the insinuation

Just gotta seal all of the holes, and make sure your seal right near the very end of 'the cave'.
... With luck, you won't have utterly missed the cave spider spawner.

My nights are always peaceful... because the map is on fire.
If I hear a monster while I'm out and about, I dig furiously until it is exterminated... and then torch its place of residence

Silly, that's the best part of the game!
Totes gotta have that epic pvp survival, complete with looting, razing, and stealing sheep. Gotta get me some notches on that headboard, Hayter.

Except the part where Minecraft doesn't look like shit, even for this time?

Mistakes have been occasionally made, trying to make a safe zone out of a generated cave instead of digging one myself. There have been instances where I would approach a hole, trying to see if there was any coal near the opening or something, and two or three creepers would come out at me. Not fun at all.
