If jesus knows where the missing Malaysian airplane is, why won't he tell someone?

Funny thread is funny! Big Grin

The trouble with religion is it makes a lot of excuses for an "almighty" "omnipotent" being.
Religious people speaking on "his" behalf as if they know why he does what he does and doesn't do.
Go to the Christian camp, you'll get their version of god, go to Islam, another. Go to eastern religions, another.

Wait a minute...Maybe there's MORE than one god? :p

They alternate between that and telling us that it's impossible to know the mind of god.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Because He gave people the rational capacity and resources to find it ourselves.

So, what is the purpose of prayer? If "God" gave us the ability to think for ourselves, why do people pray?

Did Jesus have anything to do with the disappearance? He's a crafty bugger that Jesus bloke.

Really Godschild? That kind of position holds no credibility whatsoever, even within your own religion. Your god showed himself half a dozen times in the Old Testament, performed approximately one metric fuckton of miracles and acts of wrath, and Jesus performed miracles and rose from the motherfucking dead in the New Testament. You're going to have to do better than that.

So he's a lazy "pass the buck" git then?

Some people have the ability to think for themselves. For the rest, there's prayer.

I used to say similar things and so now looking back at it, I wonder why people assume they know how a god "operates." And then when asked about why this or that, I'll get another spin.

Just doesn't make sense why we feel we need to believe that "something else" is in control. But yet he gives us the ability to solve our own problems. I guess that's the answer we give when we can't make sense of tragedy.

How about we don't try to make sense of it and just accept that there are bad things that just happen? It's like we need to talk to an invisible being to cushion the blows of reality?

I dunno. Sad
