What do you hate about religion?

The thing I hate most about religion is that religion will win ( I don't think it will ever happen but you never know) and all of mankind will lose.

I never said it won't go away It will go away. The creation museum is one example of many reasons I really hate it. Telling children that dinosaurs lived side by side with early man, the Earth was created 6000 years ago, Noah saved the animals from a great flood, etc confuses kids when they go to school and are taught something just a bit different. That bothers me the most. Some might look on that as child abuse. When I was a kid after school I went to catechism I asked a nun about evolution, which our class was discussing and she pretended she did not hear me so I asked again only to be ignored again and never asked again

Do you know for sure that earth is a sphere? Or it is also bullshit?

Actually, I know for sure that the Earth is NOT a sphere. Because its rotation causes it to be flatter around the poles and bulge near the equator, it's generally considered an oblate spheroid. But due to the existence of mountains, valleys, hills, canyons, and other terrain features, it's not even exactly that. </math nerd>

Because I am. 40% of my hatred to religion comes from bad influence religion had on me and 60% of my hatred for religion comes from my desire to save the world. I am a superhero.

Trying to make the world a better place is heroic. But to be a superhero, rather than just a hero, you'd need superpowers. What exactly can you do that other humans can't?

I don't hate anything about religion and I don't blame religion for human nature.

While I see your point, I disagree about not blaming religion for human nature. I hate religion for enabling the worst parts of human nature and allowing them to flourish.

For instance, all of humanity displays an "us vs them" attitude at least some of the time. But in rational people, we can get over it. Perhaps we see people from rival organizations, schools, countries, etc as rivals, but they don't necessarily have to be hated enemies.

But when your worldview revolves around absolutes of good vs evil, then you have to see your rivals as truly evil. Thus, no compromise or truce can ever be reached, and this enables bigotry and hatred, which can lead to aggressive behavior. That's how religion makes the worst parts of human nature even worse. That's why religion is a problem.

The fact that religion is capable of skewing people's morality and obfuscating evil with good. It justifies the sickest of things and calls it piety at the end of the day. Genital mutilation, decapitation, wife beating, child abuse, brainwashing and lying are all moral in many religions.To be a truly religious person you must lie and lie often because the amount of skeletons in a holy writ is unbelievable. As to how religion grew out from mythology based paganism I do not know but the monstrosity we call religion has outgrown it's own britches.
Religion is capable of poisoning minds and infecting the youth as it promotes injustice and unfairness to all. I would make exceptions for Buddhisn, Shintoism and strains of Hinduism but other than that, 80% of the worlds religions need to vanish. Never in my life have I seen a monopoly that values ignorance. Wait I forgot that Yahoo, Microsoft and Google do the same

The halls of congress are filled with these cavemen that are responsible for the rights of freedom! it's fucking ridiculous. I don't think christ-insanity will ever go away. don't expect religion to dwindle with the continued growth of science. look at the world now.. sure atheism is growing.. but too many people are taught how to restrict thoughts at a young age. And too many people are so easily corrupted by the thinking of whoever approaches them first. It's either go extinct, or it's scripture having the bullshit answer for everything.
