Where I live the Hispanic population is mostly Mexican. They are all catholic and against birth control.

I wouldn't call the entire Hispanic and Latino population "Mexicans".

That's cool. Just ignore me. I get to hear remarks like "you're so lucky, your oldest 2 don't even look mexican", or "oh Stephanie you're children are beautiful, you can't even really tell they're mexican!" on an almost daily basis, so I get too sensitive about it sometimes. Meh oh well.

Is it for political reasons

Because if referring to people from Mexico, as Mexicans is racist, then referring to people from America as Americans is racist.

So is calling Japanese people Japanese

Italians cannot be called Italians.

But in their defense, I know a lot of Latino immigrants and they do work very fucking hard. They are the only guys who will be up on a roof all day in the beating sun for 10-12 hours a day in the summer time.

Because Americans are too fucking lazy and spoiled to do the work.

A group of people who are mostly from Mexico, is not a group of Mexicans. It is a group of Hispanic people. And if you will refer to the post above you, I just honestly have an irrational urge to cringe at the word mexican. So yea, I'm sorry sue me.

And the thing that sounded racist had more to do with what seemed like an implication that all Mexicans are poor and breed like rats. Maybe that's not what was implied at all.

I use to do that with my father. I don't think Americans won't do it I know many that would kill to have a job doing anything especially that.

Wait just a minute! You can't just go around calling people Europeans, that is about as racist as it comes!! (Double exclamation point, just to drive home the anger) I am a European, but I could be African, or Asian, or Australian, or even from Mars. Just because I'm white, speak English and dress snappily doesn't mean you should jump straight to European.

I could be AFrican...I mean, I'm clearly not, but I could be.
