Let's use some common sense here.

What do you mean?
Are these muslims being persecuted or not? If not: why not?

I guess you could call it persecution, but it's justified for the protection of other members of society.

Surely no one has ever said that before!

Q about arguments for God's existence.
What if we were to treat all individuals as individuals, regardless of religious belief, creed or color?

What if we instituted a simple rule: that your beliefs and your right to practice them end at your neighbor's nose?

More than half the states enforced anti-miscegenation laws, let's not pretend it was something restricted to the deep south. And they were only ruled unconstitutional in the late sixties, so if you want to talk about redefining marriage, it kinda seems like that's an American pastime.

More importantly, I find it interesting that you've decided that "one man one woman" is the definition of marriage. Seems sort of arbitrary, especially considering all the things involved in a biblical marriage that you're ignoring, like paying for your bride, among others. You're not even appealing to tradition- still a fallacy, by the way!- you're appealing to your own personal opinion.

Because some people want to be persuaded by them. A more incisive question would seem to be why do some people want to be persuaded by them.

"I think I use the term “radical” rather loosely, just for emphasis. If you describe yourself as “atheist,” some people will say, “Don’t you mean ‘agnostic’?” I have to reply that I really do mean atheist, I really do not believe that there is a god; in fact, I am convinced that there is not a god (a subtle difference). I see not a shred of evidence to suggest that there is one ... etc., etc. It’s easier to say that I am a radical atheist, just to signal that I really mean it, have thought about it a great deal, and that it’s an opinion I hold seriously." - Douglas Adams (and I echo the sentiment)

I face adversity from my own wife for being christian. When he said we would face trial and suffer persecution he was speaking in general. It's very common to speak in this way. Because God blessed me and life is wonderful (which it isn't) doesn't mean I'm not undergoing trials for being christian.

At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Why do I have to keep repeating this over and over? How about the Soviet Union, China, North Korea, and Cambodia. I've only mentioned these examples a zillion times before. I'd suggest starting in North Korea.

Because you are not in China, North Korea, or Cambodia. You are in a Christian majority nation in which churches don't even pay taxes.

Nor are China, North Korea, or Cambodia behaving nearly as badly and Catholics did during the crusades or the inquisition, or either the Catholics or the Protestants did during and after the reformation.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god.  If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.
